He just looks very comfortable at this level already and that is rare. So many teenage attacking players get to the PL and either retreat into a personality-less shell because they’re shocked by the speed and intensity of the game (ie, Reiss Nelson) or they just lean into running around like energetic madmen (ie, Martinelli or Oxlade-Chamberlain) without much nous or composure. Nwaneri is just out there playing his football.
A little bit more sharpness to his runs, decisiveness on the ball, and physical maturation and he could be a monster.

Jesus, Sterling, Martinelli, Nwaneri and Trossard might be enough to get us through on the wings.
We need another forward though.
Always wary of getting comfortable with what we have though, when they are on form it always looks enough but could easily all be moaning again the second Jesus goes off form or gets injured.
It’s a lot to ask of the existing bunch, it was already even when saka was fit. In the summer I convinced myself and specifically said that we could be okay with the 6 we had at the time, but they’ve proven collectively not reliable enough.
- Havertz has down spells and isn’t a proper striker
- Jesus gets injured too often and only just got his scoring boots back
- Martinelli has been largely disappointing for 18 months
- Trossard is up and down
- Saka is reliable but now crocked
- Sterling hasn’t had much chance to prove anything
- Nwaneri is good but still a kid and a lot to prove, he’s also our only cover for Odegaard.

I missed the game (urgh) but from what I’ve seen Nwaneri looks stupidly comfortable at this level. He looks beyond his age. This is a genuine talent we have here.

- Havertz has had problems being unavailable himself this season. He’s another one we’ve got to watch his minutes
- Nwaneri becoming an option on the right means we’ve taken a midfielder out of our options.
We’ve got 25 players(includes Setford, Nwaneri and Myles) in our squad as things stand. If Tierney goes that’s down to 24.
We’re still in all competitions and we’ve had some pretty bad luck with injuries already. Perhaps it’ll get better but there’s also the likelihood it gets worse, and one way that could happen is by overloading the players we’ve already got here.
