Between the outgoings and incomings, I think Edu has done extremely well this summer but we need another attacker.
Edu, keeping my fingers crossed for a transfer madness in the next 3 days.
Whatever we sign will be a squad player I think.

I agree, to sign any top quality attacking player this late in the window makes it too difficult for a selling club to get a replacement and will also push up the price.
Unless the selling club knows that player already wants out and is waiting for the domino to fall to get their own guy.
The Mesut Ozil deadline day deal comes to mind for me. Though judging by that infamous Wenger interview, it seemed like the deal was already done beforehand.
Trossard joined as a good squad option. An addition like that would be very well received.
Ozil was surplus to requirements at Real Madrid and they had Bale lined up so Wenger got a bargain but the attacking players we are after in this window are wanted by several other top clubs.
It just seems unlikely that we’ll get a top quality player so late in the window with the selling club not being able to replace them unless, like you say, deals have already been made but we might sign a decent squad player.

Yep, good outs with some nice, favourable terms in our favour if reading the reporting on the deals is accurate.
I think we have prioritised on the weak areas first and foremost. The forward signing remains a tough one and trying to convince player (Williams) or club (Kvara/Napoli) is tough.
I’d rather keep the powder dry if we can’t get that level of player through the door. Buying the types of players rumoured recently (Adingra, Lookman) and spending £50M+ on either is buying for the sake of it. I think the club are well placed in their convictions of a player and they normally go hard for the player they specifically want anyway. If those types of guys are being presented as ‘options’, at those prices, I’d side with the club on not purchasing them.
We may well go for a loan in that position (Sterling, Coman) to tide us over until next summer when bargaining terms might be better for us.

£25-30m for Nketiah
£30-35m for ESR
£20-25m for Ramsdale
At the worst case it’s £75m invome from 3 players and at the best case it’s £90m.
Good business from Edu so far. Also got rid of Tavares, sent Lokonga out on another loan with an option to buy.
Think we need another attacking player to round the summer off as I feel like we’ll be a bit light going forward.

If it is not, are we going to pay the whole 50m to activate his release clause?
The other one is Kvaratskhelia.
Close to 100m.
If we cannot get them, better wait for someone that really worth our investment.
Maybe in a few more months, we will see another batch of quality wide players in the market.

8 or 9 for me. I’m pretty happy with the policy of trimming the fat, something I massively support. (GUT THE SQUAD @sevchenko)
Hopefully the loans turn into sales. But I’m okay with the message of not pointlessly trying to hang onto bad players we won’t use.

Fair play to the guy, he’s really done well I think, would love to add another attacker like everyone else but of it’s the difference between getting someone who’s good or someone who’s world class, I’m happy to wait.
Full marks for Edu this summer even if Reiss stays. He’s got players out and got good money back. We’ve got to be close to zero net spend this summer.

I think we have done really well with outgoings this summer. The quality of the squad now is high. If we can add a top quality player in the last few days, I think this will be another really successful transfer window. How times have changed!

In terms of squad health, I would say 8/10.
It would have been 9/10 or 10/10 if all deadwood were sold.
However, in terms of equipping the manager the right tools to win the title, We still need an attacker. So as of now, Edu gets 7/10.
