Shame he gets mistaken for that twat Lee Gunner.

Edu works so silently that none of the IDKs actually know what we’re doing, which is very interesting.

Although if we’re working so silently how do they know we aren’t working on Gnabry :thinking:

Probably from Bayern & Gnabry’s reps that Arsenal haven’t expressed any interest.

Glad we are working quietly though, it’s a much better approach and I’m so tired of all the BS that comes from ITKs. Seems the club are moving away from having mouthpieces on Twitter and stuff when it comes to transfers

This is a common misperception. I used to do this at work. I’d keep to myself in my office all day with my headphones in. People would think “Oooh damn, he’s working really hard. I wonder what he’s doing.”

In reality I was on OA.

Edu isn’t working silently on big deals, we’re not doing any deals rn.

Fabrizio telling us he knows nothing about Arsenal then.

Tbf, it does look like all links to players came from agents or from the clubs we’re interested in signing players from.

Jynxed it :santi:

This Edu working in total “secrecy” is a very overblown narrative, sounds like fluff big time. What does it even mean in reality and how is what Edu does any different from any other TD/DOF in England?

Our major moves for reasonably known players has always been subject to updates from journalists and ITKs. Arsenal clearly brief Ornstein/Gunngerblog about our business and strategy to some extent before and after windows.

Even under Wenger, I remember making low level signings out of the blue that twitter or the media never even sussed

Yeh personally it’s not really doing much for me in regard to thinking Edu is some hot shit techical director taking our transfer windows by storm.

I do think it’s probably more of a larger reflection of the fact we did seem to have fucking leaks all over the place. You had Ozil and Mustafi and their crew trying to shape certain narratives and you had guys like Ornstein hard wired into the behind the scenes going ons at the club, which never did much us any favours. Although I always felt like the board were it’s own worst enemy during that period and our opposition knowing our moves wasn’t the reason behind our poor squad build in the slightest.

Also if we’re trying to lock shit down, build a tighter dressing room and have a more covert and hushed approach to our transfer policies then I’m not really sure where All or Nothing fits in. Although I’m sure Amazon is well versed in the art of non disclosure agreements

I think Arteta and Edu made a concerted effort to stop the leaks and its worked to a large extent…Vieira signing, Partey in the USA squad…ITKs posting and having to delete tweets or publishing factually incorrect articles

I do really like that part of the set up. Always funny to see them take Ls.

Thats valid on information out of the dressing room.

Although I will say if you’re bringing a large contingent of Brazilians already in or close to the national team, leaks will happen with more frequency if things aren’t going well

See with Torreira it part of the SA culture to be frank with press in their own country

With Zinchenk confirmed, I must say Edu is spot on with his incoming.

Granted we are spending big but the players we are bringing in look great value & have a high technical abilities.
Ramsdale, White, Tomiyasu, Odegaard last season
Jesus, Vieira, Zinchenko

Also Kroenke’s have spent money
Those 7 quality players cost us around 250m.

Don’t forget their age profile. None of them are over 25 years old, they can give us a solid 5-7 years if things work out and really help cement the new values of the club and team.
