Top notch source there :grinning:

Luckily, this rumour has been going about 2 years at this point.

Excellent level for Eddie. I think he’d shread it there. Easily 13+ league goals

Best you’re going to get from Palace maybe £25m with add ons

With them cashing in on Olise we may be able to force a higher fee.
They were very keen in January and the other guy they were looking has turned a total turd at Fulham.

Having just said that, who says Parish won’t be cheap and try to lowball Chelsea for Broja now that his value tanked.

If they sell Olise and Eze they can easily afford 100m replace them with Nketiah, ESR and Nelson. :grinning:

Feels like Palace have been linked with Nketiah going back to when he was still in his dad’s ballbag. Years of transfer stories.

Eddie should leave for the sake of his career. 15 league goals at a mid-table club, maybe pushing close to 20 (eventually) is about his level.

I wonder if he still thinks he can break through lol. Surely that time has passed and he realises this. Has to leave.

I just hope we move him and Ramsdale as soon as possible this summer in order to raise some money for the incoming transfers.

It’s only a matter of time before both leave and those are the biggest outgoing moves we can make atm and a lot will depend on them.

to comment on a topic from another thread, Jesus I would never sell, Eddie on the other hand is one we should sell, he should get game time for his own sake and with Jesus and Kai here he won’t.

I’m with Sevchenko, £25m sounds good for everyone.

And we should get another striker in then. And I wouldn’t prio putting our money on an expensive high profile one over say a wide option, but rather someone either coming to develop but with a style more suited for us than Eddie and who is ok with being on the bench a lot, or some 30+ yo, experienced and reliable tier two guy who you know what you get from and is also ok with less play time.

Then I guess supply and demand plays in as well, come summer.

Would be a huge success if true.

Fingers crossed

I don’t buy stuff from The Sun anymore, even if they’re exclusives which used to contain some actually reliable stuff.

Nketiah will have lots of interest. There’s no doubt about that. Hest gonna be the go-to choice for every mid-table club looking for a striker, purely for the fact that the striker market is ridiculous and any somewhat decent striker is costing an arm and a leg.

Palace were ready to spend big money on him in January but we didn’t want to let him go. Would’ve probably been a club record sale seeing how loaded Palace are at the moment.
That’s probably not an option anymore while Mateta is still there.

I still think it’s great to see that there appears to be interest from multiple clubs of that ilk.

I think he’s one of the players that might drive up a little bidding war between a few clubs. £30M sounds about right but I wouldn’t be surprised if the sum increased.

‘reluctantly’

as in ‘ooohhhhh no we cannot even think to let him leave. Unless a really good fee comes in and we will take the cash whilst pretending to shed a tear, it will be a sad day but we will get over it very fast.’

It’s a shame that Crystal Palace have seen Mateta claim that striker position at the end of the season because they had shown an interest in Nketiah and would have paid good money.

But he’d start for most mid table clubs looking for a striker, especially as he’s young with PL experience so we should be getting at least 40m or more if several clubs are interested.

I could see Palace still being interested if they managed to shift Eduoard, who has been a disappointment and Glasner doesn’t seem to rate at all, somewhere else. Mateta scored 10 goals in three years before catching fire this spring. He is far from a sure thing going forward in terms of level and consistent availability over a 38 game season so having another good striker - and they could play together in a 4-3-1-2 type system - isn’t a bad idea at all. But I doubt they want three strikers in the squad.
