Look at how Liverpool attacked last season and look at how we attacked.

They added Wirtz and Etikete.

We have added Madueke so far.

How can you think we are serious about anything other than massaging egos :arteta:

Whos egos?

Let’s not act like last season was our bench mark. In the two seasons prior to last season we got 84 and 89 points and scored 88 and 91 goals. With Gyokeres and the internal improvement of Saka and Nwaneri I see no reason why we shouldn’t at least equal that, if not improve on that. Especially considering we played with no striker during those two seasons.

I get being jealous over Wirtz, what is there to be jealous about Ekitike?

He’ll probably just say something like stay calm, we need to stay calm in the very sensitive stage we are atm, the deal migh or not happen but what matters is to stay calm and wait for his next report where he clears the situation again and gives us some fresh insight.

If he posts that now you’re basically prime suspect to be him tbh.

Edit: ok you’re off the hook.

"My understanding is personal terms have never been an issue. Once source said, he would sign a 5 year deal tomorrow. "

i dont undestand what is that mean

I mean, it’s quite clear. He’d be desperate to come, personal terms wouldn’t be a problem.

It means our knock is different.

Absolutely nothing new here. Eze would join us, we need to sell to buy.

He didn’t really reveal much. We might or might not go for him, he’s obviously an Arsenal fan… Idk…
Stay calm.

The standout quote for me is this:

Since the talks / glowing references from Arsenal players Arteta is obsessed and directly communicated this to the board.

It’s absolutely true that we have to sign Eze, as mentioned in the tweet. We CANNOT go into the season relying on Odegaard as the prime playmaker.

He would be the prime playmaker with Eze anyway, but he just needs additional help in that regard.

Don’t really get why we need to sell to buy here but either way Eze isn’t taking the left wing level up significantly enough besides having more technical and creative ability than Martinelli. Seems like Madueke is the new left winger to compete with Martinelli or Gyokeres features there for transition threat with Trossard likely going out the door. That doesn’t seem good enough to properly challenge tbh.

Eze’s a very solid central option so the versatility element is there and probably the biggest plus for making this move. But people have been going on like Eze would be this amazing signing. He’s not Rodrygo who could have huge upside (i.e taking us to the next level in attacking threat) and it’s arguable even the likes of Lookman could have been a more important fit given the situation of our LW.

The Madueke move overall looks like such a blocker and a massive risk in addressing this glaring issue. If funds are an issue the priorities are just off. We’re in a situation where he probably has to be a revelation on that left side and it’s hard to see how he can take that level of step.

Guess we just don’t really know what Arteta has planned for the system this season.

We should probably just go all out for Rodrygo even if it takes crazy money like 80m+. He has the full package.

The deal sheet from the athletic said on 15th July if we sign Madueke, Gykores, and the Valencia guy we are still interested in Eze but will be need to sell first and it will be later in the windows.

Not sure why everyone is reacting like this when this has been the situation for the past week
