Like you can definitely get by with Martinelli and Trossard as 2nd/3rd choice options when your undisputed starter is this good. And if we’re really struggling with making chances through the middle, he’s a proven option through the middle. We get a lot of options from this move alone, horses for courses.
But needle moving doesn’t necessarily mean it’s enough to topple the favourites who could wind up with Wirtz, Isak and Ekitike in their ranks. Not to mention how good City could be this season with their amazing acquisitions. Chelsea should be closer to challenging this season too.

Yeah, whether it puts us ahead of our rivals is a different question, but what I do know is that this signing is improving us massively. We desperately needed more creativity, and he gives us that. It also helps mitigate the lack of creativity if Ode has another shit season, something I have been worried about.
That would be some story if a released player earns his way back to being first choice player and wins the club a long awaited major trophy
