Imagine they had 23 shots on target and a total of 44 shots but somehow their XG was 8.4 haha.

Just to wrap my head around this - they had 23 SOT and 44 shots, and of those 44 shots 8.4 were expected to be goals?
Yep. I saw the XG map and it had Ajax at 8.4. But still people will point to it as a reliable metric when all its doing is trying to turn an unpredictable sport into a predictable one.
