Yep, I suspected this would be the case. Hence, why we specifically matched the 100m valuation and even threw 5m on top as bonus.
Very likely Rice’s camp was briefed about the offer and was told that it would then be up to him to talk to West Ham about granting him his exit now that a very important offer was made to West Ham.
