Shame. It definitely seems like Sullivan and his cronies are going to drag this out as long as possible. We should just offer £100m, span across 3 years as our 3rd and final bid.

Weird that City merely matched our bid. Presumably they are more than aware that £90m is not enough, even if in 2 installments.

Think it’s because City don’t really want Rice, they’re just trying to pay the minimum to ensure we don’t get him.
A bidding war has definitely ensued now. Not sure what the best move for Arsenal is tbh.
If we offer £95m, I think they’ll still reject it.
I hope Arsenal behaves this way if someone like Saka leaves in a few years.

I think City are trying to up the price so we have to pay more or walk away.
They can sign any midfielder they want, but typically go for Rice. They are afraid of us. We’re closing in on them.

The City bid is barely different from our bid that was rejected - not exactly pulling up trees

Agreed. Now that I think about it, I would love for us to offer the same £90m bid but just much more favourable terms to West Ham.
