Not gonna lie £30m sounds a lot for a backup goalie. I presume a lot of the add-ons are with him becoming #1 in min though.

It is but if we get 15m for Turner then we’ve upgraded considerably with a net spend of very little, especially if Raya takes over as our first choice GK.

I mean, it’s an upgrade on backup keeper. But as you say that’s pretty hard to get excited about because a backup keeper doesn’t play much.

I think the 30 mil figure is what it now takes to have the luxury of two top goalies. Pretty heavy fixture list with no Thursday nights out in the boonies this year. Your top man goes down, you want someone better than Turner.

I can’t recall any reports suggesting Spurs bid that much.
Spurs valued him at half that(20m) so they ended up walking away and signed Vicario instead.
I find this one really bizarre.
