I think the biggest thing Allisson had over Raya was the ability to make those amazing saves and legitimately win points for his team with them.
So far this season though, Raya has been that guy on multiple occasions (currently, it’s every other game he has made a huge save).
I do think he needs a bigger portfolio of that sort of stuff to be in the conversation as the absolute best but he is 100% going the right way about it so far.
And to think Spurs thought they were getting him😂

Most folk appeared to be less bothered about Raya himself and more “wtf Arteta” about Ramsdale being deputised after being GK of the season.

Signing him and jettisoning Ramsdale probably wasn’t such a big call to insiders but on the outside it was very divisive
Knew from the second he’d signed that Ramsdale was finished here and he’s repaid all of the faith shown in him, even signing for us he came late in the window so probably needed time to acclimatise.
Last season he didn’t have much to do such was the strength of the defence but now you can see the ownership he has of the defence and command of that area. It probably does help that Ramsdale has gone also so there’s no longer that lingering question even if he knew deep down that he was their guy from the moment he signed.
Not been here long but proving himself to be one of the leagues best and one of the best in Europe also, considering the cost that’s ridiculous value for money.

Might be the best goallie I’ve seen at Arsenal.
Has to continue like this for a full seasom to get there though.

He’s great. Knowing Arsenal fans however that won’t last. Soon he won’t be saving a fantastic finish and some will call it a mistake. Then he will make another non-error and be called a liability.
