At this point Luiz and Cedric are effectively free transfers and Mari was only £14m and at least 2 of them are unlikely to be in our starting XI.
They’re not necessarily positive signs but since this is a club that recently signed a £25m fullback and £70m winger I’m not going to make judgements about the limit of our ambitions based on these cheapish squad options.

I think he is going to be a squad player for most of next season, unless our luck gets even worse (if that’s even possible) and we lose 2 or 3 CBs to injuries. I think Saliba, Mari and any new CB we sign or one of Mustafi/Sokratis will be ahead of him.
He is a disastrous first choice but as 4th choice or 5th, can’t ask for more.
If he’s fourth or fifth choice we could ask that he isn’t paid 150k a week or whatever the fuck large sum it is that he’s on.

He won’t be a back up as he’s likely to be disruptive. This was one reason Lampard allegedly let him go.
If he is on those wages, then this club is an even bigger joke than we all think it is.
You would think Arsenal should be able to make money on Chambers and/or Holding because of the homegrown stuff. Saliba is still really young. Don’t see how he is going to be starting player in 20/21.

Yeah the goal wasn’t Luiz fault, a misplaced disgusting pass under zero pressure from Kola is how that came about. Maybe a better more athletic defender would have prevented it, but ultimately we should never have been in that position.
He was on the wrong foot when Kola made the pass. A very bad pass too and I don’t think he expected it. I really want to blame Luiz though, makes me more sad that I can’t
