Sigh, I have to be a petty cunt to derive joy from that.

The only guy I hate is the camera clown, fuck off. This was his last chance to win the WC most likely, at least he kept it together until he was off the pitch.

And as for Moroccan players coming up to him after the game, I know they mean well but I know exactly how CR feels there, I fucking hate when I lose and they guy who beats me want’s to come up in my face and hug and shit afterwards whilst I’m having my internal processes going.

I swear every UFC fight after a fighter loses and the other fighter gets up in there face and starts whispering what I imagine is Youtube philisophy oneliners in their ear I swear I am just waiting for the person to shove them the fuck away one day

Tbh I think it was nice of them to come up, he didn’t seem too annoyed by them more just he couldn’t face the fact it was over.

Hard to watch that video, don’t care what people think of him he’s one of the greatest ever players and to see him crash out like that sucks.

You see the light mate. Better late than never

I think you’ve missed a bit what I meant or maybe it wasn’t clear enough, it’s not purely about the pressing itself but the game shifting that way makes it harder and harder to find a team where he can fit. Now every manager wants his forward players running at full pelt for 90 mins and he hasn’t been about that since he was about 23.

He wants to play at the top level but his game doesn’t suit the majority of teams now, at Juventus he could get away with it because he scored enough and being honest the league is a bit slower and easier on the whole. Even then people like you were moaning about his impact on the team, so it’s nothing magical about him just being 37 - it’s his style of play and focusing his work purely in the box more and more over the last 6-7 years that has led to his downfall. He did just fine (not his elite level) for United last year under a very different style of play that suited him more and now ETH has come in with yet again another high press possession based game that doesn’t suit him. United were never about this in the slightest before ETH.

Yes he is old, yes he is slowing down but he’s more than capable of banging in 20 league goals if the system suits him, nobody I’d want more on the end of a chance than him.

Messi is pointless to bring into it, he’s a completely different style of player often playing quick one-two’s with short bursts of pace and walking round for the rest of the 90 now. It’s more possible to accommodate because he can drop deeper where there’s less and less onus on pressing. Messi was always suited to a longer career imo, could go til he’s 40 in some capacity.

Lewa more comparable and a fair argument but Ronaldo at 34 was just as good, I think Lewa at 37 will find the same issue. It’s the combination of being 37 and the style the majority of teams are looking for now. Both of them are largely box players at this point and not many teams want to carry that now, regardless of goal threat.

Well he had no reason to, ETH needed to hit the ground running otherwise he’s out on his ass in 6 months at United.

That’s why they all should’ve agreed to part ways in the summer, not take the piss and put him on for 4 mins against Liverpool like he’s a 18 year old trying to break through into the team lol. 4 mins to go and you bring Ronaldo to hold a 1 goal lead? With Maguire and Shaw on the bench as well? Yeah right that was ETH stamping his authority and making him feel small.

This is very true, I really hope he goes somewhere and plays for 100k pw or even less just to stay at the top. I don’t see why money matters to him anymore, he’s more than set for life and could still get a Saudi deal in a years time.

Completely agree. He seems to think he’s still that guy, and tbf in a slightly less demanding league and team he probably still is, so he should drastically cut his wage demands and play somewhere halfway relevant, not bloody Saudi Arabia. That bag will definitely still be there in a year’s time or whatever. Though in all honesty, he’s so far beyond having to be motivated by money that if I were him I just wouldn’t sign for a club in Saudi Arabia anyway.

Every one of these Ronaldo videos lately seems to be accompanied by overly dramatic melancholy inducing music. Saying that…I guess it’s appropriate this time round.

Figo got a point.

A True GOAT would win the WC in his career.

Turned out to be a massive fraud, this Ronaldo.
