Cricket

I’ll let the team know that I don’t meet your requirements. It’s been a good run, but when an oracle such as yourself proclaims that I’m not decent I’m not really sure how it’s tenable to continue, such is the consequence of your opinion.

I mean, you’re being deliberately obtuse. I’ve never once called myself or pretend to be an oracle. I’m aware that there are other members on here - though I don’t know any - who may think you’re ever anything but rude.

I dont claim to be any kind of oracle on cricket, far from it actually.
I got into the sport later in my life and now absolutely love it. I watch and read as much as I can.
Weve been to games and I only love it more and more.
Im going to continue to watch it, and read about it, and learn more.

Apologies if ive written things in this thread that may be off key or not completely correct. I can only try!

No, but you do behave like you think everyone else has to live up to your requirements of them as you have in this very thread today, to a member that quite rightly did his best to block out your repeated, quite deliberately rude attempts over the last several days to bait him into an argument.

Also - you’re aware of members who think I’m rude but you don’t know any? That sentence is so passive aggressive it ceased to make sense. I’m aware of users who probably think that of me. If you have a point to get to, please feel free. But perhaps take it elsewhere, I’d hate to derail this nice niche thread any further. I’d suggest a thread about something I follow, but I doubt anything I follow would be good enough for you.

No, I said I’m not aware of any members who don’t think you’re rude, but I know they may exist.

Lol. That is all you ever do. You never add anything to a conversation.

As to the first point, I will try not to let that keep me up at night.

As to the second, I don’t need to prove anything, but if you’d like to evidence that I have “never added anything to a conversation” then please go right ahead.

Very interesting day of cricket, thank fuck for Mitch Marsh or we’d be up shit creek without a paddle as opposed to it being evenly poised.

I agree
He was immense for you considering he hasnt played in a test match for however long, 4 years or something?

When your innings finished I thought you had 80-100 to many and thats down to Marsh, who we could have caught when he was on 4 I believe?

To lose our 3 wickets quite quickly was disappointing, only saving grace is that where we are now, you were just behind on runs after the same amount of overs so its delicately poised.

Yeah hasn’t played a test since 2019, been unbelievable in T20 format recently but obviously that’s a completely different game.

Joe Root dropped him relatively early on.

Good opportunity for England today though if the pitch flattens out a little, but deep with Woakes and Moeen etc also.

Mark Wood is an absolute terror. You can’t put a price on that pace and accuracy. Feel like if England have any chance of pulling this series back he’s going to be a game changer.

Bit harsh on Josh Tongue though given his performances but the tail was too long so can understand beefing up the batting with a quality bowling all-rounder in Woakes.

Loving this greener pitch. It’ll make for even more exciting Cricket. No issues with a game ending inside 3/4 days if we’re seeing more happen more often.

Not gonna lie though, I’m not really seeing why England had to go out of their way to drag Moeen Ali out of retirement for this. I’d understand his selection had he been an active member but seems unnessacary to prioritise him for what England are currently getting back.

Getting battered. Guess going after the best bowlers in the world with flashy drives outside off and brazen hooks/pulls hasn’t paid off.

Moeen ffs

Got away with it once, then tried it again!!

Stokes and Wood saving England’s bacon. Game of fine margins had Starc or Murphy held on to their chances the lead would have been huge. Now the game is in the balance again.

Looks like we’ll need English rain for 3 days straight here.

Surely it’s time cricket comes up with a way to not let the inevitable monsoon rain stop the play. So many matches lost to weather during the rainy season won’t do any good for the sport.

Marsh trying to leave it there… Ah nevermind.
