Especially given it’s a very good chance I’ll be over in England watching Australia win on English soil in 12 months time

Quite possible England could bat in the first session, or first hour of the second. Absolutely on top.
Only England could have a team 7-45 on Day 1 and find a way to trail by 16 with 3 wickets in hand at stumps.
This test match will be over after 2 days!

7-45 on the first morning and now lead by 220 odd with 6 2nd innings wickets in hand.
Yeah, we’ll probably lose now.
Crazy game who knows what’ll happen, the wicket isn’t diabolical but yeah it’s hard to have faith in England chasing 300 +.

What a mess up by England turning a winning early start into a loss.
The mystery is why previously good test batsmen like Bairstow, Root, Stokes, Foakes and even Broad (once good for a handy 20-40) are performing so poorly as a group in recent matches. Our test batting coaching must be at an all time low. The lack of a decent spinner and really good very quick bowler a big problem too.
Once upon a time a New Zealand tour would mean an easy England victory.
We’d struggle to beat Bangladesh and Zimbabwe with this team.

Funny game cricket.
Broad and Anderson showing they still have much to offer especially in English conditions. Really stupid not to take them to the West Indies.
Without them we’ll be terrible at bowling as well as batting.
Our spin options are so bad still and Parkinson has been a waste of space.
Pretty sure this batting line up won’t pass 250 when the final innings starts.
Looks like Root will get England over the line in a classic Test match here, or will we have 1 final twist ??

Great win for England, well any win is great for them but yeah pretty classic test match that one.
