Cost of Living

I noticed this the other day, place where I fuel up is 21p the cunts. Hugs difference when you’ve got a 90ltr tank

It was agreed at 5% and backdated, and then were getting another one 4% which is being backdated to the start of this year.

So is this 4% on top of the 5%? If so that’s a very generous rise on top of being backdated.

Good stuff mate

Here we go again.

I’m thinking I’ll do at least one of the days. It’s tricky for me, I’ve only just started a new school and pay wise I’m now ok, but also I have a six month probation period because I work for an academy that can do that kind of thing (most schools don’t). Having been there a term now I don’t think they’d hold striking against me but it’s a bit of a concern.

Six strike days almost negate whatever proposed payrise will occur.

I’ve committed, so will have to strike again now.

Things you love to see :clap:

But he is going to raise taxes lol, sort of defeats the purpose really.

How about no :joy:

Presumably he isn’t including himself when he says “people.”

Those empty suits trot out this crap but in reality it’s much more likely to be the systematic profiteering across the economy that is keeping inflation high, however, they of course have no intention of doing anything about it.

Pretty good article on it here

Exactly, poorer cos we’re getting fleeced left and right. Get fucked Huw.

Some of the price rises are unreal, seen items double the price of this time last year in tesco but yeah yeah just inflation right?

Tell me about it no one talks about the restrictions on farming in this country that has lead to food insecurity or the lockdown, furlough and send billions to Ukraine killed the pound.

All these companies profited from after covid and raised their prices, none of them is going back to where it was before, consumption goods, airline fares, they’re all milking it, we’re in a eat or be eaten world.

I read about this. I also had this conversation with someone the other day, the price of everything has gone up, why on esrth would these people drop prices, people have paid them without much fuss, nothings going to get cheaper.

It’s pathetic they are bleeding everyone to make up for the losses during Covid.

But this blatant profiteering is so sickening.

Yep. And it’s gonna get worse. Be prepared for more stock issues at supermarkets when the next phase of post-Brexit bureaucracy is inflicted on imports. It’s already bad enough but it’s gonna get worse. Food prices already ridiculously high.

The bottom line is all we can do is hope costs hold steady and salaries begin to rise because these fuckers aren’t going to bring prices back down. The way this country has handle things is absolutely disgraceful. Was glad to see so many Tories lose their seats in my constituency and others.
