But as has been stated, testing in that area is lacking, so it’s up to the parents if they want to take the risk – and therefore the government can’t be culpable

Hmm interesting, her step mum lives in the US though and as far as I know it was a rare type of leukaemia, so that might change

Long way from any of this and relying on a perfect storm is to unrealistic.

This I found the most weird reading the article. If you want to prevent something entering the nation the easiest way seems preventing arrivals in the first place (with the obvious exemptions for food and medicine…).
Well this is the kind of thing it’s going to take. Breaking these rules and going off the radar is potentially a matter of national security at this point. It’s just a shame how few countries it covers.
