The Serie A has just been suspended until April 4th. I would be so funny if Liverpool were to lose their title due to this (should the EPL also get suspended / maybe the whole season cancelled). And go another 30 years without a title. The jokes write themselves.
Upon further thought, that would mean no European competition for Arsenal next season. Hmm.
They’ve played 28/38 games and are likely to get at least another 1 or 2 played before anything happens. That’s 3/4 of the season and there are probably rules around what happens in an abandonment scenario. They will be champions no matter what.

I definitely read a tweet posted on here in which the person claimed to be quoting some clause of an FA/PL rule that suggested that the season would be abandoned if a certain amount of games didn’t get played due to a pandemic or other widespread disaster/incident. Think it was some shitey Man U account posting it so probably bollocks. Gonna take a ount and say maybe @Electrifying shared it?

I have Italian friends here in London who are devastated about the events in Italy, it feels surrreal.
Not sure if it’s been confirmed, but as sporting events in Italy have been suspended, what would happen to any European clashes in CL/Europa where one leg was to take place in Italy? Would the whole tie have been suspended? Who would go through in that case?
Apparently Juventus v Lyon next week can still go ahead, but behind closed doors. Though I read yesterday that Juventus applied to play the game in Malta but UEFA said no.
I’ve been to the stadium in Malta, and it’s turf is not up to scratch for a champions league game lol
Don’t think it was me, I can’t remember seeing anything like that.
Tbh Liverpool can win it this weekend so I doubt they’ll screw them out the title, but would be funny.
