Copa America

Is this game being played in Miami?

Perhaps it’s delayed as they’re waiting for a large portion of the crowd to make their way back from New Hampshire?

This is all CONMEBOL. After the US benefiting financially from the last one, this tournament is almost entirely run by them, using US stadiums as CONMEBOL felt that US Soccer made too much $, to the detriment of them.

WC ‘26 will be FIFA and US/Mex/Canada (not CONMEBOL) and won’t be run as amateur hour.

Plenty of the games have been sold out for this tournament. Tickets were pretty expensive (thanks CONMEBOL for gouging us). I paid right at $500 for 3 in the mezzanine section for the US game in Atlanta.

It’s in Miami. Game was delayed because they had several hundred/few thousand fans without tickets try and rush into the stadium, forcing security and police to intervene.

This has been a bit of a boring game

Will the pitches be bigger at least? :xhaka:

Well, they are regulation, but some of the host sites will have pitches that just meet the requirements for the width of the pitches.

Has this game even started?

Still 0-0. Messi in tears on the bench. Looks like a hamstring.

Yes, he took an awkward fall. Maybe some lingering effects from the collision late in the first half.

Aaaaaaand it’s ET.

I see the Copa America is exciting the North Americans just as much as the Euros is exciting us across the Atlantic?

Haven’t got to see much of the game. Running between my house and an AB&B as we are moving out.

My youngest is still up.

From what I’ve seen, this game has more handbags than a Louis Vuitton factory.

That’s it. Thank fuck. Nighty night.

Such a Farmer’s Copa

And Messi has another trophy with Argentina. After the losses in 2014 (World Cup), 2015, 2016 (Copa America), it just felt that he was destined to not win anything with Argentina. But the last 3 years have just been spectacular for him and Argentina. Pleased for him and for Argentina. Diego must be smiling somewhere.
