Chelsea vs Arsenal (PL) 1-1

Brentford at home on weds, they only have 1 away win all season and 5 defeats.

Should be a great chance to take 3 points at least. Need to watch out for that Thiago cunt though.

The draw is a good result given how poor we were. We just have to take the point and move on. Chelsea were the better team in the game. No shame in saying that.

Will take the point but ultimately I think that’s two points dropped for us especially playing against 10 for so long

I was very impressed by Chelsea who really didn’t look like they were a man down after playing in midweek, it was a very good performance without their engine in midfield for most of the game

We had the players out there to do much more than we managed, Arteta made the requisite subs I felt

I’m disappointed we didn’t win today. I just think in the bigger picture it won’t be a disaster.

Opportunity lost after the red but I’ll take the point given how much more energy they had and being without both Gabriel and Saliba. We very easily could have lost this.

City losing last week effectively gave us a free hit for this.

In previous years we’d have lost playing like that, so on that basis we can be somewhat relieved we got the point, but the standards set on us as runners up for three years just doesn’t afford us any room to drop points. It’s exhausting.

Tbh it’s easy enough to play the way they did following the card. Mostly just counter attacks and sit in a low block.

exactly. CB pairing out, we’re away to an in-form top 4 team and all our strikers have been out for a bit, it’s not a bad result on paper at all, the red card makes it feel worse than it is imo

Law of averages says we weren’t going to have another great weekend.

Not sure what Arteta’s tactics were but you can’t blame him when we have so many players out.

Yups, and if we’re looking at points gained over 2 weekends, then we’re still +1 up on City after both weekends’ results.

Cucarella is a such a cunt. Would love to get some clippers to that awful barnet

Surely, that will be the “toughest” 3 fixtures in a week this season. Team did not have the normal energy levels today. Disappointing performance, but the point isn’t terrible.

Sometimes other people succinctly sum up exactly how you feel before you have the chance to.

They were the better team prior to the red too

The Gunners are unbeaten at Stamford Bridge in their last seven visits, meaning Mikel Arteta has never tasted defeat at Chelsea’s home ground as manager of Arsenal (W3 D4).

A weird one to analyze because this was a massive opportunity to win with them going down to 10, but once we went 1-0 down a draw became massive regardless of the context. It would’ve been huge to win it but we’ve avoided the nightmare scenario and I think we’re in decent shape coming out of this.

Can’t really pick a harder game in the league to go in without Saliba and Gabriel tbh. Their absence was definitely felt today.

Perhaps. Then again, I was responding to what you specifically said in the previous post which is entirely different.
