Why would he be well respected? I mean I understand he accomplished a lot as a player but his record as a coach is still pretty meh and that dressing room is going to be very different from the ones he’s worked with before.
Yes I think he would be. He was a great player and he doesn’t have an extensive record of terrible performances as a manager to offset that too much at this point.
He’s also very young so lots of the players will have grown up watching him or been heavily entrenched in the football world when he was playing at City.
Yeah I guess I just wasn’t that high on him as a player to think he’d be automatically respected. Maybe it’ll be an inspired appointment and this post will look as dumb as all my other posts in about 18 months.
