Bundesliga

And being awful in Europe is what?

Is it really bottling though? Bayern have a clearly superior squad and advantages in basically every other relevant facet of the game.

To me it would be bottling if Bayern were the ones losing.

I don’t understand your point?

They have just created a different system. I like parts of 50+1 but it’s obviously got its drawbacks as well.

Sure Bayern won’t win every league from now until forever but they might win the nine of the next ten.

But the European form is dreadful. Chelsea this season.
Group stages last season. Compounded by going out to Rangers in the Europa. Then Frankfurt win that trophy.
It just doesn’t add up.

Ah I gotcha.

Well Bayern did win the CL during the lockdown season.

And tournament football is weird. You have injuries hit your squad at the wrong time, lose a few group games and you’re out. Look at Barcelona getting bounced into the EL. It happens. The Chelsea home match was a total disaster for Dortmund. They had been in incredible form, they lost a guy to injury early and then were on the wrong end of an incredibly poor officiating performance. Shit happens.

Frankfurt is actually really well run team. Fredi Bobic did a nice job of putting the bones of that team together and Glasner seems like a coach on the rise. The less said about Bobic’s time at Hertha, the better.

Dortmund are the Spurs of German football. Bums.

They won a lot more than Spuds, can’t compare them.

BVB won league and CL before, financially they are healthy, their recruits are doing good.
They are a very stable and sustainable club.
I don’t see that on Spuds.

I can’t remember Dortmund winning a Champions League so went and checked. It does make he see them in a different light.

They won it in the late 90’s against Juventus, which by the way was the most formidable European side at the time making 3 finals in a row.

Also runners up to Bayern at Wembley in 2013. Good game that one.

Imagine telling people after that final what would become of Bundesliga and it would be hard to believe. Losing Lewandowski and Gotze the first of many dominoes.

I remember that final. Am I right in thinking Lewa had already agreed to join Bayern?

Yep

Not even close. Even if they have choke gene when it comes to the league they’ve won a cup within the last four or five seasons.

BVB is a serious club, Spuds is a joke

Tuchel already got them knocked out the cup at home to Freiburg, quality.

Dortmund also knocked out of the cup by Leipzig. Free run at this thing for the remaining four.

Sounds so unlike Mane.

Shame that was lacking during the match.
