Nagelsmann is what people think Arteta is.
What people hope Arteta is. We donāt know what Arteta is.
Donāt you think he would have used this season to practise pressing if he was as progressive as most (including me early on) seem to think he is? He just looks quite old fashioned to me.
Whether or not he turns out to be good is another matter, but I seem to recall that the argument in favour of him was be that heād bring modern tactical ideas to the team.
Tbf a few members on here who were happy with Arteta wanted Nagelsmann originally. Myself included. He was always my first choice, even before Wenger had even left us. I donāt think anyone is naive enough to think Arteta is God Almighty or something. Itās more that we thought he was a better option than Emery. But I would have taken Nagelsmann over Arteta, no doubt about it, and Iām sure most others would have too.
Having said that, I do have high hopes for Arteta. But he is still new to the management game, so Iāll wait before passing judgement on what kind of manager he is/will be.
The fact that he should be progressive as a coach/had a similar style as Guardiola was something that was starting to live a life on itās own. Just because he was his assistent. But with 10-15 games into his career we still needs to see what he will become. That for me was the reason why I picked him over Emery (because shit) at the time. But I wasnāt sure whom we had appointed tbf.
In his early stages he seems to lean towards what Del Bosque did. Possession being the means to nullify the opponent rather than to dominate. Which really is fine by me. I just donāt want to go back to Wenger 09 - 17 or gung ho Bosz-style football. Massively frustrating.
āOk, you win, no more Monday gamesā
āDonāt believe youā
When being ultra done right
There is every reason our fans should do this, too.
Haaland is sensational.
The Norwegian Lukaku. Wait til he plays against actual pro footballers and not Austrian farmers.
imagine PL team fans having this much integrity
Well that is what Rory Smith goes on to say. Itās true. PL fans have a lot of power, they just donāt use it.
Dunno about that, heās got a lot more pace and seems a more natural goal scorer than Lukaku, it took Lukaku a while to start hitting goals the way Haaland is.
The biggest of the biggest are interested in him for a reason.
Haaland is on a whole another level compared to Lukaku. Much better general sence for position, much better technique and much better finishing compared to Lukaku at that age, arguably better than his recent finishing too.
Lukakuās game was always too heavily based on his physicality, from his early Anderlecht years where he was simply bullying his opponents⦠thatās why he never developed other aspects of his game enough.
Haaland has great physicality too, but he he plays with his head, and has good footwork too, doesnāt focus or rely just on his physical attributes, thatās the major difference.
How late to the party are you? Thatās like turning up to someoneās 30th to celebrate their 21st.
Or turning up to a funeral to celebrate a birthday
Lukaku is a bit underrated at this point. His lack of first touch puts a ceiling on his growth and Haaland will be a better striker, but his 25-goal season for Everton and him being on course to score 20+ for Internazionale is stuff that put him at the top.
Excellent work by @Bavin, heās actually managed to change the discussion to being about Lukaku. When will people learn?
Took me 4 goes, but finally got a few hits ![]()
