As others have said, the mid to late 2000s.
Werder won it 2 years in a row, then Stuttgart, Bayern, Wolfsburg and Dortmund 2 years in a row around the same time.
Then Bayern domination begun
Edit my bad, Bremen were runners up 2 years in a row after winning it, I always thought they won those but whatever

We have all forgotten the german Leicester: Kaiserslautern. Now they play in the 3. Bundesliga.
Bayern won it in '05, '06, '08 and '10. That seems pretty dominant, no?

Yup… Bayern have been the dominant team every decade apart from the 60s.
Not as bad as now though, I guess.
I’d argue the other top leagues at the time were worse, but you had 2 dominant teams which maybe made it better to some.
