Bukayo Saka (7)

Almost 1 year to the day since his last away goal in the Premier League

Halloween is over, why’s it getting so spooky in this thread?

Where is this concern for Saka’s contribution coming from?

He missed 4 months out last season due to injury.

Less than two weeks ago he was tearing Fulham and Atleti apart. He was a doubt against Palace because he was ill, still played through it, and then scored the second goal against Brighton to seal the game last week.

In terms of goal contributions he’s been top for each of the last 3 season, including the season he missed 4 months out.

Gpr is only saying we need Saka of first half last season back who made 22 goals contributions prior to his injuries.

seems fair.

That’s fair, but from what he’s shown recently he shouldn’t struggle getting his numbers up eventually.

his performances have been below par. Just because we’re winning doesn’t mean that he or anyone else for that matter is free from criticism.

The best thing about all this, is that other people are stepping up to make up for the shortfall and we’re no longer over-reliant on him.

Ever the reactionary.

I’ve done the numbers in in the PL dating back to United at home early December 2024

1348 mins which is just shy of 15 games full 90s worth scattered over 21 PL Appearances

2 open play goals vs Fulham ( his return ) and Leeds at home this season

0 assists

Surprised me the degree of which the lack of productivity has reached tbh.

Fraud?? :raised_hand: That’s way too much.

Overhyped? :index_pointing_at_the_viewer: Yes. :xhaka2:

Is Saka really physically fit though? He seems to have lost the explosiveness again, was showing glimpses of it few gameweeks ago until he pulled his hamstring.

Looked fit yesterday. Played the whole game too and played across 3 positions(RW, LW and CM).

Sidenote:
Great pen. Bar that weird Panenka against Courtois, his pens are much convincing nowadays.
I know him being the penalty taker has been a topic of discussion but his record is actually pretty decent actually.

He looked as fit as ever in those games against Atletico or Fulham where they couldn’t defend against him.

Could have more production but his performances have been good all in all imo (aside a couple of really weak one’s).

Btw, putting my Madrid hat on for a sec.
(Madrid hat on)
He’d be the perfect RW for Madrid.

Mbappe off the left, Bellingham back to that false 9 role and Saka on the right.
(Madrid hat off)
I hope he stays at Arsenal till he retires.

I mean, he is really good. And if it isn’t obvious by now I’m a huge fan of him, easily my second favourite active player in the world.

If I weren’t a gooner he’d be my #1 wishlist signing. Every time I watch Madrid I always wish they had someone like Saka on the right. Haven’t had a decent right winger since Bale and Di Maria.
