Pretty good event, both Royal Rumble matches were good although I think the women’s one was better, might be the best women’s Royal Rumble to date. They did a really good job making multiple women look strong despite not winning.
Aside that, I found the matches in-between a bit underwhelming.
Unfortunately, I think the presser after the event may be what receives the most attention coming out of the event. They didn’t go easy on them. Both Cody and Triple H asked questions about Vince.
Cody handled his well but I think Triple H didn’t do himself any favours with his answers. They really pressed him and he didn’t seem particularly pleased about it.
Definitely an unmemorable Royal Rumble in the ring.
Definitely pleased that Bayley got her moment. She’s been under appreciated by WWE and been one of the best and most consistent performers in that division for years.
Did they say she hasn’t had a singles match at Mania on commentary? That’s insane.
Saw parts of it and I thought it was really unimpressive and couldn’t be arsed to stick around. I’m clearly not missing out on much. Always a bad sign for me when Royal Rumble can’t get you hooked.

I agree. Theres not going to be much to see in the buildup to Mania and this Vince stuff could cast a long shadow.
the first half of the mens rumble was pretty boring but the second half was better, the Truth spot was funny and I like that it’s a continued thing, no surprise entrants which was dissapointing (I don’t count Andrade cause he’s boring)

I thought the same with Andrade. They said when he came out that he’s been gone from WWE for three and a half years and not once in that time did I remember he’d been there at all.
he joined AEW when I used to watch it, the guy is very forgettable
I would agree but he did step it up when he returned to AEW this year.
Got a pretty pop yesterday which I did not expect. I expect he’ll be part of the LWO storyline for Mania season.
Melo, Steiner and Sami and McAfee(lol) were the other surprises.
It does look like Bron essentially took Lesnar’s spot and he’s now part of the main roster going forward. Got a pretty good reception too.
I felt a bit bad for Sami btw. He was #30, coming back from an injury, and he didn’t really get a particularly noteworthy reaction. Crazy to think he was the most over babyface just a year ago.

I wouldn’t read anything into the reaction for Zayn. The crowd were dead as a doornail all night.
True, stadium shows are a bit hit and miss with their sound.
Alamodome last year with Royal Rumble was a big hit.
Principality Stadium with Clash at the Castle was great too.

I do wonder what they’ll do with the IC Title though. Feels excessive to have it on Gunther while he’s World Champion.

I mean, he’s 45 and his health wasn’t that great when he was wrestling 10 years ago.
He might be transitioning to that backstage role he wants in WWE sooner rather than later.
He’d make a good onscreen GM. Shame they’ve just made Rock’s daughter the NXT GM for some reason.
Seth costs him it as part of the feud leading into the world title match, I’d imagine.

Yeah I got that as I typed it. It’s still a weird spot for her, I think.
Every time I’ve seen her, she’s just awkward. She definitely can’t work, hasn’t really got any charisma or personality. I guess thats why shes in NXT.
