Low-key their best match of their trilogy from RR96 onwards.
Watched the entire of the PPV.
I donāt know 96-97 Bret is a bitā¦ ehh. Like once youāve seen one of his matches in that time frame youāve seen them all.
Especially against big guys. This match is pretty much mirror of his matches against Diesel in 95/96
Obvious exception of that is Austin vs Bret at Mania. Thatās my favourite match so far in general Iāve ever seen.

Issue with Bret v Taker matches was that Taker was never going to tap out to the Sharpshooter (kinda the reason why you have that opinion of Bret matches of that era tbf- HBK effectively no sold the sharpshooter. I think only The Patriot legit tapped out to the Sharpshooter from Bret after WM12- a whole year and a half later!)
Furthermore, Bret had to keep the belt. The finish had to be imaginative. I liked it. A match has never finished that way before or since.
Iām watching Badd Blood in a bit. Looking forward to that main event and THAT debut. Gonna be a weird watch at the same time seeing as Pillman died a few hours before.

Badd Blood was a great PPV. Itās not even that entrance. That cage match and the brutality is the first of its kind.
Owen had a good match with Farooq in this PPV as well (or am I confusing that with Ground Zero?)
