These Indy fucks have ruined so many previously protected moves. DDTs are just normal moves, everyone kicks out of finishers multiple times and daredevil moves are weekly occurrences
Thatâs nothing. The gnarliest piledrivers youâve seen are now two counts and transitional moves.
Weâre talking about a move that has left countless of wrestlers paralyzed or resulted to them breaking their necks being treated like shit. Fucking infuriating.
The Young Bucks (in my book the most overrated wrestlers anywhere in the world) have a lot to answer for with this kind of thing.
They had a good match with the Hardys. I hope they realize how much better their shit looks when it doesnât go at 1000mph. Their matches with The Hardys and FTR are some their best work ever.
But yeah, their shit along with some other guys have set a terrible example of what good wrestling is today.
It mainly stems from PWG and Meltzer dirtying what used to be very good rating system into a jerkfest of car crash parody wrestling matches.
No concept of pacing matches. Everything is just spot after spot itâs proper nerdy Indy stuff.
How guys donât watch the psychology and work of the 80s and 90s guys and learn from it is beyond me. Watch any Bret Hart match and he worked stiff (but safe) and his matches always got progressively more intense not just 100mph from the jump.
Itâs a joke the quality of ring work now itâs just a bunch of Indy freaks who watch too much Japanese work and think that translates to American audiences when itâs actually just really niche stuff that appeals to a very certain demographic.
More positively, what Iâve seen of the Owen Hart tournament has been very good both in terms of the matches and presentation, great to see Owen being honoured in the ring.
It bugs me that AEW allow piledrivers and so many neck compression moves in general.
Iâm actually old enough to remember wrestlers tapping out of the sharpshooter
They did it the other day with Cole and Dax. I was low-key shocked.
A sharpshooter not done by Natalya in 2022 working? Who wouldâve thought?
