I’ll set my alarm for then.
I’m in bed by 10pm anyway

He looks pale to me.
Will @SRCJJ return to OA in time for the fight?
He didn’t even get to finish his question, so possibly a bit much to call him a race baiter lol (not you obviously, referring to what the tweet says)
I think they were trying to ham the racial element up to sell the fights to PPV buyers. Boxing is a tribalistic sport and race is the biggest tribal force in America where 45% of the electerate back a racist president to the hilt.
That sounds WAY too dramatic.
P.s. I haven’t seen it myself, will watch later before I make personal judgement
I think this particular reporter doesn’t get the benefit of the doubt because he has a history of doing this.
Wait what, what’s the racial element? This is the first I’m hearing of it lol
The reporter was trying to create a racial element to the fight. Fury, rather classily it has to be said, shot him down.
Great White Hope nonsense was 100 years ago.
I’m not sure that’s true unfortunately. How else does Mayweather-McGregor sell any PPVs?
Aside from that less than 100 years ago a white champion ‘drew the colour line against the number 1 challenger, who happened to be black’. Which meant the black number 1 challenger didn’t get to fight for the title for pretty much a decade.
In the 50s you had a group of boxers called the Murderer’s Row because they were bad arsed and nearly no white fighters would fight them. The white fighter, Lamotta, that fought one of them that went on to be world champion got easily beat.
That’s not because of the black/white contrast. McGregor is a huge star, not because he’s white, but because he can talk.
everyones talking about Wilder vs Fury 2 at my local shop, people in Corals & at the motorway services. Bet old Edward will be tuning in paying the £25 (which I have) watching with his misses in his transformer pj’s eating cucumber salami sandwiches & a bounty. Who you got winning and how fight fans? I will be setting my alarm for about 4:30am early Sunday morning and hopefully my timing is perfect.
Not even laughable anymore this hype stuff. Pure cringefest.
I agree with you on hype. The only exception to the rule I’d make is for this fight. It deserves the hype, it merits the billing. Why? They’ve done this before and it was exceptional.
If it was on Sky Box Office, they’d have called this the fight of the century, the biggest boxing match of all time, yadda yadda. In that case, I’d have been with you 100%
Anyone else struggling to get excited for this fight?
Yes, but the doctor prescribed me some pills about it.
Yeah. Not likeable people.
I think it’s very easy to get carried along with the hype for this fight. It truly is enormous. I do think it will live up somewhat to its billing in terms of shock factor and unfortunately for the audience majority I’m pretty sure Tyson Fury is getting knocked out
2 SHWs who are the best HWs of the last decade? And I’m actually believe Tyson when he says he’s going for the KO now he’s got a Kronk trainer. If he’s bullshited us then hands up
I hope it’s not another Watson-Eubank. Where Watson got robbed boxing Eubanks head off and then decided he needed to KO Eubank. He battered Eubank pillar to post knocking him down, Eubank admitted he was just looking to survive the distance. Then he got a haymaker in the last round and Eubanks power was just way too much for Watson.
That kind of shows how good Jones Jr was too. Because Watson lost every round to McCallum before stopping Watson. Watson completely outboxes Eubank. McCallum draws and loses to James Toney. Then Toney loses every round to Jones Jr.
