another match we could survive with some rest for starters.

It’s not until you hit a lengthy international break that you really realise how much you miss club football.

Unless you support United.

I think the last two matches have shown that isn’t the case.

we won, didn’t we?

If we don’t rotate when play against Bournemouth, when are we going to rotate?
Against Pool or Chelsa, United?

Why do we even need to rotate ?

Saka not fully fit
Kai status unknown
Rice not having a break representing England
Jesus/Jorgi/Merino/Tomi need game time to get match form

We play Shakhtar at the Emirates after Bournemouth away, that’s a better candidate for rotation.
We play Preston in the League Cup after Liverpool, that’s another candidate for rotation.

Unless someone isn’t fit, I’d like us to go with the strongest team possible against Bournemouth.
You can always sub key players off early if the game turns out easier than expected.

Bournemouth, this level; and we cannot rotate.

They’re above United, aren’t they?

Anyway, check their form at their ground so far.
Drew against Newcastle, and they could’ve easily won that game.
Lost to Chelsea after conceding late, but they should’ve also won quite easily that day with the amount of chances they created.
Beat Southampton.

Obviously we’ll face better teams but I think it’d be naive if we went to their ground thinking it’d be an easy win for us.

I think the goal should be to have 11 players fit after this international bollocks

we have a pretty good away form, this is the chance for me.

If we have to worry about a #13 team and can’t rotate, we are not champions material.
About 3/4 of the whole league we have to worry… what kind of mentality is that?

Our other football fans as obsessed with rotating their team as Arsenal fans?

its not about worry, in PL you can drop points against any team on a given day, so its better to be safe than sorry.

get the job done and then rotate player after hour mark.

I have the opposite opinion.
Last season we had about 80-90m because we reached the CL quarter final. The incentive to get into CL is huge.

This season we have a different format and very difficult to make any plan as we have 8 different opponents. IMO the CL is more unpredictable than the league.
In the league, there are 38 games, and we are just 1 points behind the number one Pool.
In CL, we only have 8 games to get into round of 16 automatically.
Our opponents are not the 9 teams in the pot, but all 36 teams.

A league game against Bournemouth is a better game to make rotation than in the CL game, doesn’t matter who the opponent is.

I don’t get why people are so big on this rotation thing? Why do we need to give our first team players a rest when there’s no indication that they’re struggling?

For me rotation is not about giving a rest to the players but about giving a chance to younger players.

Gotta go full strength here (as much as we can). I see Bournemouth away as a tricky tie, even more so coming straight after an international break.

We can always chose to rotate in the second half, if the scoreline allows us to, which I doubt it will.

Rotate at home vs Shaktar, maybe.

Kai Havertz who missed Germany duty with a knee issue and Thomas Partey who did not travel with Ghana due to illness are both expected to be available this weekend :facepunch:t5: (@sr_collings)

That’s lovely but I want Arteta to confirm these guys are actually fit.
Mind you, trusting Arteta on fitness updates is also not wise.
