Black live do not matter to you people unless it lines up with your political aprenda. Black business are burning to the ground and black men lay bleeding to death on the floor on film and nothing is said or done. If black live truly mattered there would be outrage on here about the senseless killing of these men by rioters like you guys are outrage by the cop. Because those to are not politically expedient because they are cops nothing will be said, but to me it’s another two black lives lost over nothing
Its very sadly all linked if you think it through to a systematic breakdown over years to a situation being ignored and in many ways perpetuated by the current administration.
Give us your opinion on Trumps handling of this and his current term in office.
Have to say it does remind me in some ways of the disturbances in Cataluña: if a rioter was injured it’s oh my god what a poor victim look at this modern day Franquismo in action, western society save us from this evil empire, if it’s a police injured it’s fucking fascist piece of shit, you got what you deserved, when in reality they are just carrying out their job and 90% of them are decent enough people.
I agree with you that black lives do not mean shit to many of the people who use the cause as part of their political agenda/want to make themselves feel morally whole and otherwise a ‘good person’ using this or other causes, especially american politicians. If they mattered as much to them as they say they would put their money where their mouth is and address the systemic problems. I, however, don’t think I agree with you on policy in the least, black people getting their lives in order first just isn’t a solution, I appreciate it from a motivational point of view within the black community, and I think that kind of stance has use in the practice of it, but across a population as massive and spread out as the American black population (/american population in general) it just isn’t a policy solution, it’s the equivalent of saying gay people need to get their lives together and stop being so _insert prejudice here not protest and fight for their rights.
LGBT movement has been very effective shifting public consciousness and fighting for their rights in the US and over the world; certainly blacks can learn something from them, and if they can’t, because it’s not applicable, it probably has a lot to do with capitalism and the current western order being about maintaining the class status quo and the fact that the issues of black skin and class are quite intertwined, and the fact that being gay and class (/$$$) isn’t.
Anyways, I appreciate that the hypocrisy must be extremely grating for you; any non-black person or prosperous black person who’s telling you he’s 100% in with the black cause is lying to himself…we’re for it in theory, but in actual practice, in terms of what would be best for us, no one who’s reasonably well off wants socialism and the kind of things that would really help the black community on a larger scale.
So what’s left? Cheer for sops like gun control, racial awareness/education, cops heads being held high as joyous scapegoat scalps, because that’s the comfortable compromise for everyone. So I can appreciate that it must be terribly frustrating to see blacks fighting without a real sense to their fight, without even asking for what they really need, and watching the rest of the politically correct world cheering them on because the compromise suits them too and makes them feel good morally so it’s cake and eat it too, but I definitely think for blacks like yourself the solution should be to get your people to think about asking for much, much, more, not less as you’re suggesting, and that goes for any poor or historically repressed class. The latino work ethic of ‘you don’t see us creating problems like blacks, show me a latino person and I’ll show you someone with an honest, hard-working job, however humble it is’ is just the work ethic that has always suited the first world (or before, their repressors ) to keep them where they are, and keep toying around with them as the 3rd world. Blacks are right to not follow that example as you would seem to suggest they should.
That’s not surprising at all. That’s the type of black person that Trump loves. The boot-licker, the one who will defend racism and blame black people for things like moral depravity, and that they bring all the problems on themselves.
All are tragic but do you want to know the difference? Blacks killed by civilians will see the civilian brought to justice providing they’re caught. Cops kill time and again and are let off and paid a pension.
Look at the old white man above. He is in a coma and will likely die because a cop slammed him backwards smashing his head open. Will the cop be prosecuted for at least manslaughter? Unlikely. Which is the injustice of it all.
You’re talking about small fries, really. One or two lives, one or two injustices going one way or another.
It’s what’s more or less comfortable to talk about, meanwhile when you see that 89% of the cases of Covid in DC (just an example) are in the black community, and how many thousands of deaths that entails, you’re talking about the things that are less comfortable to talk about that no one really is, even with these riots.
That’s the point they are tragic but that to you and me yet no one has stop and to reassess what’s happening
Man that video is sickening. The way they all just file past him while he lies there potentially dying.
For a week now you’ve been replying with your nonsense about how black people take handouts and excuse after excuse for why people should ignore what is happening to black people in the U.S. It seems your only function is to derail the conversation. I’ve ignored it up to this point because you’re a fucking persistent idiot.
Each time it’s “you don’t know because you’re not black so you shouldn’t speak on it” or “black people should have economic power like Jewish Americans” and “but black on black crime”–Now it’s “what about black businesses”. Mfer, black people in America don’t own shit and when they try to own shit they get fire bombed and massacred. Read up on your history there Bill Cosby. Pulling your pants up isn’t going to stop America from hating you.
I’m suspicious of who you say you are because of how tactfully you’ve tried to guilt trip white posters by claiming that you’re a black man. I’ve definitely met some black white-supremacists Uncle Ruckus mother fuckers like you so it wouldn’t be a surprise. It also wouldn’t be surprising if you’re a white white-supremacist putting on a black persona just to stir shit up.
Mfer you’re not adding shit to this conversation other than distraction. Most everyone in the thread understands the uprisings in the U.S. are about more than just George Floyd’s murder otherwise the shit would have happened a long time ago considering how many black people have been murdered by the American justice system. History and context don’t matter to you dumb dumb–all you have to offer is “but what about this other thing that detracts from the actual root cause of the problem”.
Note: my reference to Bill Cosby is his well documented campaign of respectability lectures to black youth essentially telling them if they just pulled their pants up they wouldn’t be in the mess they’re in.
Either himself or his brother have posted a photo in the past. So if it is a bot it’s a good one. And I tend to think he’s genuine. He’s claimed his black peer group has encouraged him to undertake negative behaviour paterns and ostracised him for making some positive behavioural choices.
It’s the traditional conservative versus liberal outlook. The conservative outlook points to peoples outcomes are solely due to their merit as individuals. Where as Liberal viewpoint states people need assistance from the state to make sure they get the chance to have a fair opportunity in life.
Statistically he’s correct. Black on black crime is a bigger risk to black lives than police brutality. However police brutality and killings are a huge issue with the American justice system.
I wanna marry you brother.
There’s many different actors. The majority of protestors are peaceful. But there are militant groups looking to make militant protests. Then you have opportunistic criminals looking to take advantage of free stuff.
I could listen to Malcolm X talk all day. He was so articulate. One of the greater public speakers of the 20th century.
What about Malcolm x in his later life why don’t you post those where his rhetoric was toned down. Also spoke about the regrets he had about the way he spoke in his early years. Look at his life as a whole not just what is convenient to you
I’m not even going to take on you nonsense it just drips with ignorance which is typical. No point in talking to people like you because if all Black people don’t toe the same line they not black
Why not add the quotes you feel are important yourself and add to the discussion instead of complaining all the time?
On my phone but this is the incident I think? At least they know who the officers are, let’s see how this unfolds.
I can post a video of a speech that I like. If you don’t like it scroll past it find your own shit to post.
I did because do not think I’ve not studied Malcolm x from start to its untimely end. no Marcus Garvey but evolved over time and not what you want to portray him as
Lmao you have no idea how I want to portray him. I posted a clip of a speech which I thought raised something really valid points that are still pretty much valid today.
Irrespective of how his views developed, he had some incredible speeches even during the peak of his NOI days.
I’ll post a speech if I wanna post a speech. I’ll do it all day, everyday and all you can do is sit there and comment on any and everything before you ride off into the sunset until the next big general news topic strikes for you arrive in and derail.
