At the end of last summer there were some grumbles about Ben White for 50m when comparing with United getting Varane. While there is a lot of focus on Maguire, Varane does not look that great for United either at the moment. Don’t think there are too many grounds to be unhappy with this signing (Ben White), even for the money paid.

Second most important player for us after Partey.
Started every game for when he was available, even the cup games and there’s a good reason for that.
There were moments in the game where both Elneny and Xhaka dropped deep, so we had 7 players at the back including Ramsdale and they didn’t know what to do with the ball.
Really hope he’s back v Leeds

It was but I think Sevilla told them to pay up instead.
They were actually extremely close to getting Kounde. His entourage actually came in contact with a comp maker to do a video of him signing for Chelsea but the deal fell through.
Chelsea were ready to sign him this summer instead and now here we are. 
No Kounde, no Rudiger, no Christensen, no Zouma, no Azpi, etc.
