Benjamin White (4)

Bellerin also being heavily linked with Inter I think? We’ll probably play Chambers at RB if that does happen, unless we sign a new RB.

I’m getting more excited to see how he does next to Gabriel as well to be fair

I’d say that Zidanes pragmatism is a stronger part of that than Varane.

I watched plenty of Real Madrid, more than enough to know that I can forge an opinion on a player as I have.

Varane of the last couple years has been a player in decline but even then I can accept that any player can just reach the end of his cycle at a club and that may well be the case with him.

But I think his flaws were on show enough last season and this year for me to think that he may well struggle at United.

We’ll see how it pans out in the next 24 months.

I hope you’re right about Ben White also :sunglasses:.

I voted Ben White cause he is an Arsenal player and I will back him until he gives me reason not to :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

That’s not how being an Arsenal fan works. Apparently you’re supposed to whinge and moan about how bad we are and complain about things that have not even happened yet, while bigging up every other team in the PL

On Ben White, here’s a random thread

Prime David Luiz :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

He’s played big minutes since a young age and has won everything so might have lost some motivation. It reminds me a bit of Thiago’s move to Liverpool in a sense. I’d still pick Varane though.

That’s also a possibility.

Bissaka can’t attack though. Tierney/Shaw is a wash if he stays fit. White and Gabriel has question marks at CB but there’s potential there. We don’t really know.

Yeah football is a complete lottery no doubt about it. Varane could bounce back from a poor season and poor summer and turn out to be incredible alongside Maguire and White could easily turn out to be a total shitter.

I’m hoping I’m right because White is an Arsenal man of course lol

The back 4 potential is actually the least of my concerns I have regarding Arsenal ATM

You could also argue that a lot of Arsenal supporters big up players just because they are linked with us or have worn our shirt.

As for moaning about how bad we are, have we been worse?

For 50m, he’d better be a great signing but if some are doubting it, perhaps it’s because they’ve seen how our recent transfer windows have panned out.

We definitely have the right to moan mate, club hasn’t hit 80 points in the league for 13 years and for a club our size that’s pathetic.

Oh yeah, I’m not saying people can’t moan. It’s more the lack of any kind of positivity amongst some people. The people who just moan constantly about anything and everything. Like people invent scenarios and get angry at the club for something they literally made up or something that hasn’t yet happened and might never happen.

Even Ben White, some people have already decided he won’t be any good. Surely it’s better to think that he might improve us? Rather than just writing it off as the club wasting money.

He should improve us, I’m bullish about the potential of Tierney, White and Gabriel all being 23 or so.

But for supporters who have seen the same mistakes repeated every season and transfer window. it is also frustrating to listen to people making up scenarios for how great these signings are going to be and how we’re going to be challenging for the title.

The facts about how poorly the club is run are there for all to see and consecutive mid table finishes support this.

Ben White might be the next best CB in Europe but there is no reason to think he’ll be anything more than adequate.
But the main problem is that we are desperate for a top quality AM and CM, as well as a RB and GK, yet we have blown most of our budget on yet another CB, while sending Saliba on loan.

Who has said this?

Most seasons there are several people who predict this although, since Arteta, has been here, it has been downgraded slightly to a top four place.

Really???
Under Arteta, top 10 is an achievement ffs…

I haven’t seen anyone saying they think we’ll be challenging for the title. The more positive thinking people seem to have the view that if we get our signings right and start well we’ll be able to compete for top 4, not the bloody title!

Sure we can be frustrated by what has happened before, but no point getting our knickers in a twist about the upcoming season until the transfer window shuts and we see how we get on.
