I wonder if he’ll fill in at CB once he inevitably returns? Reece James has looked pretty good at RB, and provided he stays fit, he’ll be very good for the team.

Well, in the few times he had to fill in at CB after transitioning to RB he hasn’t missed a step.
His performance against Liverpool there was top class.
Given the choices at CB for England, that’s exactly where I would use him.

We’re so cooked if he plays against PSG. Silently dropped a stinker, probably the worst player on the pitch.
Bournemouth were targeting him from the start. Doesn’t look fit at all, didn’t move well on the pitch and even on the ball he didn’t look as reliable as he usually is.
A bit concerned about him..
He´s been nothing like the Ben White pre-injury. Looks way off the pace, makes mistakes. Hope he returns to himself after a solid pre-season.

Outaura certainly had the beating of him from early on. Hopefully Timber makes a miraculous recovery and is available on Wednesday.

Partey looked the same when he returned towards the end of last season and now he’s back at his best so there is hope.
Personally, I think there’s an opening for him to move back to CB with Saliba’s future up in the air. As good as he is at RB, every time he’s been asked to play CB since he’s looked equally as good.
He was probably our best defender against Liverpool earlier in the season and made that beautiful assist to Saka.
Since when is Saliba’s future up in the air ?

Yeah, we shouldn’t sell him two years out. He’s worth trying to tie him down in the next year or so, if he doesn’t sign by next summer though, we shouldn’t risk him entering his last year and losing him for free.
Yeah I can see him being sold potentially in 12 months time if he still hasn’t agreed to an extension.
Be a brutal sell though, we won’t sign a comparable or better replacement.
That’s why I think White can be that given that he used to be Gabriel’s partner before Saliba arrived and has faired quite well when he had to fill in there since.
It would be ideal for him too if there are fears about his injury. Less load for him rather than playing FB.
The unfortunate thing is, once this group starts losing it’s generational talents like Saliba and or Saka, I feel the real hope of us winning the majors is gone.
Need to get it done soon.

Real has the patience to wait for his contract to expire, so the club will feel compelled to sell him.
