Mokbel was on Latte Firm(Arsenal podcast) yesterday and he said if Arsenal have it their way they would get Sesko.
He said Sesko is more universally approved behind the scenes but Arsenal are genuinely working both deals(Sesko and Gyokeres) and once the numbers are set then they’ll make a decision on who to get.
Another name that was mentioned was Julian Alvarez for which there were already some reports about him. We looked into that deal but it’s a difficult one.
I dunno, that sounds like a terrible way to do it.

Well it makes sense from a buying point of view.
But I think I might be a little concerned if I was a player involved.
“once the numbers are set” is just the bollocks way of saying “when agreement has been reached”
Just like teams have multiple targets, some players have multiple offers from various clubs and they may be in a position themselves where they need to wait before deciding which club to join.
It goes both ways, it’s business after all.
I don’t think either player is in a position to be picky about this. From what’s been reported it doesn’t seem like either has a better club chasing them.
Alverez is a decent striker and is PL experienced but it seems that Arteta prefers a taller striker like Gyokeres or Sesko, who is nearly a foot taller than Alverez.
All I’m saying is that if a club were looking to buy me, and putting in the work to do so, whilst at the same time saying and doing exactly the same thing to another player in my position. I think that would concern me.

I’d expect the club to get them to bring that down even more given all the reports of their desperation and no serious reported interest from any other major club…

Yup. Apparently they need money badly, having missed out on CL football when they were counting on making it.
