There’s been a lot of mixed reports on this.
This HandOfArsenal dude is suggesting Leipzig are posturing and in reality they have to sell and sell fast.
In fairness, I do remember Sky Sports mentioning that Leipzig want a quick resolution for Sesko(and Simons) so they can reinvest.
The report in The Athletic yesterday also mentioned that they were expecting developments on the forward front this week.
Barring any late twist, we’re gonna end up with one of Sesko, Gyokeres or Watkins(this appears to be the order too).
And Isak had 6 and 9 goal seasons sandwiched between one 17 goal season at Real Sociedad before he signed for Newcastle.
I’m not looking at the goal numbers of a young striker and using that to measure his quality. Strikers always have their breakout season his could be next year it could be the year after but if he’s as good as the club think he is it’s coming one day.
With all our rivals looking to be spending big in this window, it might not be that high.
If our only attacking signing is Sesko, it’s nowhere near good enough because he’s not guaranteed to start ahead of Havertz so the weakest area of our team is barely upgraded.
Not just a bid not being made, the german guy is saying we never went beyond… interessenbekundung… hmmm, basic interest, revealing our interest and getting some basic info about him. Seems we aren’t in some advanced negotiations at all.
Romano is cooling off in his reports about us and Sesko too, as he says there’s nothing advanced there atm.
If I would sum everything up, for me it seems it’s pretty much 50-50 between Sesko and Gyokeres, and we will simply go for the more attainable (cheaper) option in the end.
I’m very sure we’ll get one of them in the end but the real issue here is we don’t have endless time. Taking so much time to get the 9 (I don’t expect us to finish any deak in this month, and it could go deep into the july as it stands) will make things very tight to pull off a big deal for a winger aftee that.
Even if we do save some money by waiting, we’re losing time so it’s the same in the end.
Very frustrating we ended up in this situation where we have very few options to improve our attack singificantly this summer, after failing to improve it in the recent years.
We simply haven’t been proggressive or proactive enough in the recent years regarding the attacking siginings, unlike the defence.
Would be nice to pull off a winger/striker equivalent of Timber or White idk (let alone Gabriel/Saliba), doesn’t have to be a world known name. Where are our scouts with the attack?
If we can’t get Rodrygo/Williams pull something out of your hat, it’s your fucking job. :keane emoji needed
“I can confirm from my sources that it’s now pretty much guaranteed there’s a 50% chance Arsenal will sign him (and 50% not) by the time the window closes.”
