Benjamin Šeško

That’s why they call it the farmer’s league, because the players often do this exact thing.

At this point, almost any striker would score the chances Havertz had today.

Let’s just get some ugly cunt from the championship or league 1, I bet they’ll score plenty of the chances we had today. Plenty.

Would rather have Liam, son of Rory, over this guy.

I’d take sesko over nobody but I think the concerns there are fair.

Problem is bundesliga has shipped a fair few flops so you want to almost see some cunt with 50 goals in 30 games but that ain’t costing 50m obviously.

Best bet is gyok.

But as I’ve just listed, every player has a concern or two. Slam dunk transfers don’t exist.

Isak wasn’t killing it at Sociedad but Newcastle took a chance and emptied the coffers. We’ve got to pull the trigger on someone.

Personally, it’s Sesko and Cunha for me.

Love the ds9 reference in the title

Those two aren’t taking us to gold especially Sesko

If they sign Sesko then I know this really is going nowhere under Arteta

I agree I was trying to say roughly the same, not that we should avoid sesko or any of those players in particular.

We don’t have the budget for the slam dunk transfer even if there was one, clearly.

Did cunha not sign that new deal?

So if Isak and Gyokeres are not attainable, who are you going for?

I’m not sure it’s been announced yet. I still have hope

I think Gyokeres is more of a sure thing than Sesko tbh and if that release clause is real then I don’t think he ends up costing much more than these two anyway tbh. Cunha isn’t going anywhere for less than 60m or so and Sesko probably not much different.

Man if they aren’t available then we’re cooked

Sesko might be the man in 5 years we ain’t got that kinda time lol

Should’ve given Biereth a chance

I like Sesko. Definitely not clinical though.

Interested to find out from the nerds on here how this player might compare to someone like Liam Delap.

6’5” vs 6’1” so both pretty big units.

Šêşķő has 7 goals in Farmerlega for a team challenging for CL.

Delap has 8 goals for a team fighting to stay in the Premier League.

Edit: goal tally might be all comps (ESPN doesn’t specify).

You know what that is actually a good comp.

I’d say they’re similar level tbh at least at the moment.

Delap looks like a good upcoming striker, says something that City inserted a buy back clause I suppose.

My issues with Sesko in the summer were:

  • I felt his signing could’ve blocked us signing a top wide forward who I thought was the #1 priority, in the end that didn’t matter though
  • While there is stuff to work with, he looked pretty raw whenever I saw him and I thought he actually needed another season of consistent game time elsewhere to develop
  • I do not think Bundesliga is a top league. I do not put it on par with the Premier League, Serie A or La Liga. Any highly rated player there starts with a handicap for me until I see them shine in Europe or at an international stage. Sesko hasn’t done either for me.

Yeah. Similar age too.

Didn’t know about the buy back clause, although he might well turn them down if they put in a bid.

Not sure if Gunnerblog knows something or is just speculating from his latest piece but he seems to suggest that Arsenal could/should go for Sesko, not sure:

Sesko remains of interest. His intention has been to finish the season with Leipzig, but the right proposition from the right club could see that position shift. This may be the time for Arsenal to make a concerted effort.

Sounds like speculation because of a previous link

Sesko doesn’t move the needle

Don’t think there are any realistic targets this window that will move the needle for us. By realistic I mean available on a dry loan. We’re in a really shit position.
