Yeah it would soften the blow but I suppose @ArcticArsenal is just talking about the net result. Wenger stays no way known are we winning the league or even putting up a serious challenge.
He is a true gentleman, no question about it. We will be hard pressed to find another gentleman of his stature to manage our club. But what has any of that have to do with football?
I’m still not convinced he will sign a new contract but if he does, I want it written into his contract that he must never use the words “mental strength” in any sentence.
As far as I’m aware this topic is all things related to Mr Wenger so I think I am entitled to post about things non football related? I am new here so if this is not the case then please tell me!
You’re definitely allowed to post anything about Wenger on this thread, I think the point that other posters were making is that whatever Mr. Wenger’s sterling personal qualities may be, they do not support the argument that he still has what it takes to be a top-level manager.
We won’t win the PL Aussie under this man again, I’ve said since I be on this forum for 3 years and I’m confident it wont happen in the next 2. He doesn’t build teams to win PL’s anymore, it’s all about making sure he reaches his targets which is top 4. Even that he’s failed in this season. Shows our useless board up to be pretty much a bunch of broomsticks, why are they even there if Wenger is calling the shots.
Alexis staying is a great thing, not a massive fan of Ozil. But under this old arrogant man wants the point in having them if we’re not going out to win everything.
Nah that’s not our target anymore. Wenger said he was set no targets by the powers that be. Instead he sets his own target which is to “finish as high as possible” which surely doesn’t even need saying – even Biggleswade Town have a target to finish as high as possible!
Don’t waste your time worrying, Ian. 2 more years.
I think we can safely say Ian Wright has no clue given his previous comments.
Pff, wonder what the changes will be. Can’t be too drastic.
Welcome to our new manager: Arsene Wenger! :hipster:
Clubs an embarrassment.
Any other club he would be gone. A win vs an on the beach Chelsea doesn’t change how awful 2017 has been for us
So is he staying or not?!
Hmmm Tuchel has just been let go by Dortmund…
BVB should be hoping for Wenger, not the other way around.
So approx 24 hours until his extension is officially confirmed ?
He’s staying. 2 year contract, Board ratifies it today, announced tomorrow. According to Jeremy Wilson.
Clearly for all the Wenger Outs, you can rest assured that this is his last contract.
Now let’s all get behind the club and get us winning.
I’m intrigued about the changes Wenger has agreed to. Is he going to start wearing bow ties instead of regular ties?
It might not be the result we all wanted but at least the saga is finally over!
