I’ve been saying that for years Chris to.
Don’t recommend he stays on though. Imagine the stick he will get every time we don’t perform.
You cannot ask players to play and perform if all they are going hear is boos every time struggle.
It will be an embarrassing atmosphere to play in if things go wrong.
Wenger out only if a world class manager is available.
Otherwise Wenger in. Its the most logical decision.
You’re pretty restricting yourself to a tiny list of candidates if thats the criteria. I’d be willing to give a manager of any level a chance if they’ve displayed qualities we need.
Shouldn’t it really be Wenger out if we can find someone we deem better ? The way your wording it sounds like your saying you only want him out if we land Allegri or Simeone.
Pretty much. There may be other good managers out there that display world class qualities that I am not aware of. I just dont want a nobody managing the club. It’s a tougher job than we think.
Yeah well look if it’s Eddie Howe or Arsene Wenger then I’m all for Wenger to stay
#WagnerIn
Btw isn’t Wenger officially out? When did his contract end? After the FA Cup?
if its the same as the players June 1st i think… thats why its all happening this week…
Don’t worry the extension will be announced May 31.
Wenger’s odds of staying as manager have gone from 1/3 just after the FA Cup final, to 1/8.
Either a lot of money has gone on him staying, or they have got some information that might suggest he is staying.
I’m still not convinced.
Why? Because if he can’t deliver Champions League football/money, it seems illogical to keep Wenger. That was his big thing. It’s still a question mark if he can break into top four next season.
You cant keep him because he wont buy the players we need to mount a serious challenge for the title.
In a few weeks we will be screaming about this when the desired quality shout comes out.
Its popular now to blame the board for everything. Do you not think if that was the case our longest serving manager might have just mentioned his frustration with the board. Saturday was great but its to late. We are in danger of falling further behind teams prepared to spend and all with good mangers.
Dont bottle this chance for change.
I thought, and still think, he’ll stay for 2 more years. But I’m certainly a bit more doubtful now…
Why do you feel doubtful all of a sudden?
I just can’t see a one on one conversation between Wenger and Kroenke going any other way than a new deal being agreed.
Thats what i was thinking, hence why i was wondering why the doubt from that.
Pff I don’t know, just his comments on Saturday pre-match and a genuine feeling that he has genuinely affected by the past two months. I still think he’ll stay, but the slight change in heart at board level has certainly affected him.
I’m pretty sure Kronke would have offered him a contract and assurances, so the feeling may be somewhat moot. But I have a little bit more doubt after listening to some of his press conferences in the past few months.
the end of Gazidis more likely than Wenger going…
