We could have had Lukaku.
He was the striker I wanted Wenger to buy to replace Giroud but because he is such a ditherer it means he is way out of our budget.
It is ridiculous to think that over four seasons a club like ours can’t buy a striker.
Every other club seems to be able to do it except us.
Wenger’s record on buying strikers that can walk into the first team is extremely poor.
It was because Wenger believed Giroud was good enough (or still) as our #1, so he never had real intention to get us one, get us someone better or someone to compete with him.
I don’t think this has ever really been true. Wenger has tried to sign Higuain, Suarez and Vardy over the last 3-4 seasons whilst we’ve been strongly linked to Lacazette too.
So you could argue Wenger hasn’t really ever see him as the undisputed number one. He’s been in and out of the team enough times too.
That’s true.
But what does it say about us as a club that we have stuck with a striker that clearly Wenger doesn’t see as good enough, and haven’t replaced RVP?
Possibly an indicator that Wenger will be leaving at the end of the season, the article says that Boro Primorac will takeover as manager at Konyaspor at the end of the season, he’s been working alongside Wenger since they were in Japan.
I don’t get it. Are we trying to give him less power by kicking his right-men out of the club or these man already knows Wenger is leaving at the end of the season?
