Arsène Wenger

People around the World know us thanks to Wenger era.

Why we haven’t won a CL? Why Arsenal waited 18 years to won again the league (1953:1971) and generally won two league titles in 40 years (more or less)??

Arsène Wenger helped us to be a great club because before him we were nothing (why Aston Villa and Nottingham won the CL?), to have an identity, to put this club in the future with the stadium and an excellent financial situation, to win 15 trophies (ask to Liverpool fans if he would like to change their last 20 years with ours - and they were better than us and a giant club in Europe).
[/quote]I feel like this paragraph is a bit of a contridition. We were hardly a nothing club before he took over Arsenal. We were a great club then and that’s even despite still not winning the CL 20 years later lol.

As for Liverpool fans swapping our history around, well they’ve won everything possible in that period other than the one thing they desperately want, which is the League title. Sure, compared to the 70/80s they’re not the force they once were, but they’ve hardly been lacking on the trophy front since Wenger’s been here. We had our invicibles season, they have one of the greatest comebacks to win the Champions League, both great stories. Ironically for both Arsenal and Liverpool success has been harder to come by in the last 10 years.

Yep, Arsenal were famous to have problems with drugs, depression, suicides tempted and danish players bought to pay the agents.

Liverpool spent over 1B than us.

Since 2006 we have not a team capable to compete for tge trophy with the big ears.

What?

Stop saying that you clown.

George Graham won 6 trophies in 9 years including two league titles and European success with the then respectable Cup Winners Cup.

Wenger has won 9 trophies in 21 years. Food for thought.

The game of football has grown exponentially over the years and that has played a big role in our growing brand. I won’t take away from Wenger his role in helping us grow because it’s been huge but there’s also the globalisation of the game which has played a big role too.

Well it’s been 13 years right now and that doesn’t look like ending any time soon.

Around the World, especially this year, I have seen teams with huge history (AC Milan for example) on fire to have won the Super Cup.

You refuse to consider 6 trophies only why to put Arsène down.

Yep, Liveepool spent over 1 billion since Arsène is arrived.

Try to ask to italian, spanish, portuguese, german and dutch football people why they know Arsenal.

We were known for winning European trophies prior to Wenger. See i can be selective too.

You focus on those items if you want, it really shows you how for the person that you are.

Why would i do that? Who gives a fuck what they do or don’t know?

There are plenty of Arsenal fans younger than you who know the true history of this club, not the one you’ve built up in your mind for no other reason than defence of your fallen idol.

Our success with Arsene coincided at the same time where Football started to become more global on TV and the rise of the Internet and later on down the line social media.

If technology was so easily available to see and hear about Arsenal, or any club for that matter was around back in the 1930s, there’s no question we’d be seeing the same impact about Herbert Chapman and people being influenced by him as well. Him and Sir Henry Norris are the real guys who put Arsenal well and truly on the Football map.

Arsene has created a heck of a legacy, but he’s not the sole man for taking the club to great achievements.

I know our history and I was a fan of Graham because to know what he did. I’m a super fan of Woodcock (in my opinion one of the best talented player which we had), Rocastle, Viv Anderson, Charlie George, Graham when he was player.

One of my favourite game which I love to watch is the 0-1 at Turin thanks to the goal scored by Vaessen (I have read his book), was interested about the story of Peter Marinello, I love the black and white images of Highbury and sometimes I try to find on internet the game played at Highbury between us and the great Ajax.

I asked many times to debate about our past history, but the old fans are focused on the flames, to use the old days to attack Wenger and to blame young and foreign fans like me.

You think everything is an attack of Wenger. Sometimes the criticism he receives is completely justified. And that’s becoming a case of more of than not too.

Wenger’s almost ardent supporters, yourself being of them, have perpetuated this myth of how much struggle Wenger is going through working with an uncooperative and unambitious board.

The board have given Wenger over 240m to spend on players since the summer of 2013. They would definetly have sanctioned more too.

It was Wenger who thought signing only Petr Cech would be enough to win the title with a team that wasn’t capable of winning the title in any of the previous seasons.

These are Wenger’s players. It is Wengers tactics. His formations. His philosophy.

To place the blame on our current form with anybody else is simply denying the obvious truth that Wenger is the problem.

He may well go and be successful elsewhere and wherever he ends up I will follow that team and cheer them on. But I have no interest in watching him continue to take our club nowhere.
