Even when we were getting back into the game he changes the dynamic of our game by switching the player whose causing them so many problems from the left to center mid basically killing his game. He also takes off a fit player leaving Ox who was struggling with a knock, on… A stadium ban would have been better, For us! God I hope you are wrong about the contract cause I could see some bad things happening if that news comes out. I don’t listen to the man’s interviews, same old excuses different year. He has a tough few weeks ahead where I could see us losing a lot of games i.e Chelsea, Bayern and Liverpool. Could bring a lot of ill will his way.
I don’t think even winning the FA Cup will go down that well this season. The club just needs something to bring a new lease of life to us, it just feels like we’re on flatline for the last few seasons.
The FA Cup is the perfect thing to gloss over those cracks and smooth over imperfections Arctic ! Its a tried an trusted formula !
Maybe with some, but deep down honestly I think finishing above Spurs will save his job. I think winning the FA Cup is a bonus. He got his minions believing the title isn’t the be all and end all. Sad really.
So if we finish outside the top 4? Say 5th, as long as Spurs were 6th Wenger would stay? Where do you draw the line on that? What if we did a Chelsea and finished 10th? Oh it’s fine because Spurs are 11th.
I know some fans are only bothered about finishing above Spurs, but I honestly don’t think finishing above them makes a jot of difference to Wenger’s job. It’s the top 4 thing that saves him.
Be honest, I don’t even want to talk about challenging the title seriously, getting a deep run in the CL, or get another FA Cup…
The minimum requirement for Wenger to get an extension should be: at least find a solution to deal with teams that are physical and teams that would park the bus and counter us. Wenger and the team are just clueless in those situations.
Of course, Wenger will get an extension anyway. He doesn’t give a fuck; the board doesn’t give a fuck, and the owner doesn’t give a fuck.
If we finished outside the top four and spurs finish second and Man U and Liverpool were third and fourth, there really would be no excuse for Wenger, even if we won the FA Cup.
We are the only club with a settled side, who have a manager that knows the PL inside out, and has been at the same club since mobile phones became popular.
If he can’t finish above spurs and Liverpool, who between them have very few players that would get in in our first team, then there is no excuse.
The only scenario I can see Wenger keeping onside with the supporters, is if we won the CL.
But winning the FA Cup and treating it as a major trophy is for clubs with little ambition, not for a club who’s owners and manager proclaim it as one of the biggest in Europe.
Knowing that this is The Arsenal , we’ll head to Stamford Bridge and get a result on Saturday and Wenger will become a hero in some quarters.

Headlines can be misleading. They haven’t got 2 days off. It’s 2 days of recovery work in the gym. It’s not like they are swanning around Monte Carlo or anything.
