He was well paid and compensated at Arsenal.
However money isn’t everything, power is very valuable. Wenger had plenty at Arsenal. This can also be levelled at Ferguson whom despite fan dislike of the Glazers Fergie didn’t mind them at all.

Well thanks fuck for that else we would have had a mediocre set of managers managing Arsenal for a decade
I notice we’re slowly walking into the ‘Arsenal is a mid table club without Wenger’ angle here.
You thought you had me.
You made a specific claim and I replied to it, so yes, I guess I technically did pick/choose something specific to reply to. But so what, you fucking said it lol.
I might not be able to point to a top manager who would have accepted the role with the limitations on player spending, but I don’t have to, because that is not the claim I was responding to. All I’d have to do is point to managers better than Allardyce who we could have hired between 06 and 11, and even you would have to admit that that wouldn’t be a hard task at all lol
Fine we can afford Harry Rednapp & Tony Pulis
Graham was a pretty decent manager,
He came here when we were mid table, spent very little money, built up a team from mainly youth players and went on to win on average more trophies per season than Wenger, while getting paid a few grand a week wages.
Lights blue touch paper and slowly moves away.
Graham was also corrupt as fuck.
So what if he was topping up his few hundred quid a week wages with backhanders given to him by agents, which is now the usual way of doing business and I’m sure Wenger did the same.
But Graham won league titles, European trophies, FA Cup and League Cups, without the club having to buy expensive players so what’s wrong with that?
Classy
About as classy as Wenger lying to supporters after every transfer window and pleading poverty while being one of the highest paid managers in Europe.
Bollocks
He would have earned more by leaving Arsenal
Be grateful he didn’t because Arsenal could only afford shit managers like Allardyce during that stage.
No manager of decent repute would have joined Arsenal knowing they would only get to buy cheap players for a decade.
Arsenal fans are such ungrateful fucks.
Haven’t read any of them but autobiography is just the first one.
Get the first one on Audio read by the man himself.
wow… audio read the whole book?
Yep its a good listen
I definitely would consider it…
thanks for letting me know.
One of the better ones I’ve read was The Professor: Arsene Wenger by Myles Palmer.
If it’s an autobiography you want, I’d go for the one written by Arsene Wenger.
I found his accent hard to understand in places. Although I did enjoy his talent for understatement in times. E.g. Describing lads nearly killing each other in local French football, “it was a bit physical…”
