Wilshere and Xhaka would leave no protection for our 2 CBs who are going to get fucked with how much Bellerin and Kola like to get forward.

The only pairing that that worked in that formation was Coquelin and Santi.

I would like to see this line up. Enough defensive qualities, ability to pass opponents on the wings, good striking force with aerial at the front. Maybe lacking creativity as its just Ozil.

It’s not a bad team if the players are committed and playing as a unit. The problem is four outfield players who want to leave and two new ones just getting integrated.

Have Wilshere and Coquelin ever played in midfield together?

Perhaps with Ozil ahead. That’s the closest we’ll ever come to Coquelin + Santi with our current squad I think.

They played together in the middle at youth level.

If Xhaka and Ramsey are too weak, god help us with Xhaka and Ozil.

This. Elneny has the sense and legs to cover space left by Ramsey.

Would be tempted to put Holding in ahead of Mustafi, personally.

But with 3 CBs behind Xhaka and Bellerin and Tank on either side of him, he would have sufficient cover from defence. Xhaka is weak, so having three defenders behind him rather than just two makes sense. Also Bellerin and Kolasinac are pretty much defenders too but can also attack. I would put a much stronger DM in that position, but this is all we have for now.

Not a good-looking line up, but it is what we have atm. We need 3 in the middle not to get overrun.
