Dear oh dear. While two of Chelsea’s goals were flukes our passing, closing down and positioning has has been awful. Most of our forward passes in the final third have been hopefully punts that Chelsea have dealt with.
Does anyone else think we’re playing too wide which is leaving big gaps for Chelsea to build-up attacks? I want to see a more compact formation and fewer hopeful passes forward. We’re not going to win if we don’t run the middle. Damage limitation time.
Embarrassing night all round for Arsenal so far tonight.
On the socks, what usually happens is that the home team will change their home socks to their alternative ones (we have red as back-ups this season) so ensuring that the match goes ahead. The only explanation I have is that Emma Hayes refused, because she’s a horrible person.
I get that the socks can’t clash but don’t we have a red flash on ours?

Kate’s spot on. the passing was awful and is the main cause of the defeat.
At least we did shut-up shop and grabbed a late consolation that the fans seemed to make the most of after a long, deflating night.
They’ve made a set for the men’s team, I would hope they’ve made them for the women too. Arsenal have had alternative red and white versions for the home kit from around the time of the Invincibles.
We’ve also had alternative red shorts for a number of years. If you’re quick you can buy them when the each home kit is released. We should use them when we play away in red. as they do look cool.
