Out of country for my honeymoon and can’t stop thinking about this one.
The most disappointing part of this season has been losing games so easily that looked straight forward wins on paper. What is most frustrating is, we’ve lost points few times where Liverpool failed to win.
I know we always go back to recruitment - but again, look at Aston Villa. 2 offensive signings made the difference. I don’t know if the issue is deeper and beyond recruitment, but eventually surely Arteta will consider his future if it’s KSE that are not backing him appropriately.
No. As when I come to London its for more than just the game. Got to make the most of a weekend in one of the best cities in the world. I always get a match programme tho to mark the visit.
Seen Hamilton a few hours after the game. It was excellent. Probably the best theatre show I have seen and much more entertaining than that fucking game
Good, glad something good came out of your visit down here.
It’s important to have other hobbies on days like this. I’m going to go for a fly to somewhere hot in MS Flight Sim today and forget about football for a few days.
Saliba and Gabriel need to take more responsibility against these kinds of teams. Too often, they had time to carry the ball forward but opted for safe, sideways passes instead. West Ham were happy to let Arsenal play in those areas because they had a numbers advantage. It’s frustrating that these issues from 2023 still haven’t been addressed.
Potter out-coached Arteta yesterday. His 5-3-2 setup stifled us, allowing West Ham to match us man for man and shift across the pitch with ease. There’s no MNF this week but I need someone to tear into our approach and why Arsenak keep failing against the mid-block.
I disagree with the title of video but Bonucci looked excellent in those clips. They press Pirlo but Bonucci is easily able to pick passes through the Lazio midfield.
To bring it back to Arsenal, no one does this in Arsenal’s defence. Gabriel sometimes becomes a passer but he tends to do that further up the pitch rather than in his half as Bonucci has done.
Gabriel - Saliba - Rice. That’s how I’d positioned our players to get a bit of progression from the back. Rice was excellent at West Ham moving and carrying the ball forward from a deeper position. We require someone to move into the block. Instead, we have him playing in one of the pocket positions. Misprofiled. We know Rice struggles on the half-turn, so get him facing play instead. Let him build from deep, where his ball-carrying and defensive instincts can be maximised. Can Rice pass? Yes. Then stretch the pitch out and allow him to make those reads.
Glad to hear you didn’t just go for an Arsenal match I’m the same, I make sure my weekend trip to London is full of stuff so I have enough distractions when the result isn’t positive.
