He doesn’t have to seeing as the Emirates has bars in it
Tbf to @Trion he might be thinking in old money where alcohol used to be banned at UEFA events.
Gonna miss this one. Hopefully lads put in a performance today so there’s something to look forward to in the 2nd leg.
Anyone’s tummy spinning already? Or are we all calm about tonight’s game?
I’m pumped. Finally a game with some meaning again.
It was never going to be easy to win the CL and with the injuries it’s going to be more difficult but it’s still there for the taking and I still think we might do it.
I’m going for 2-2 with Rice and Odegaard to score.
A statement occasion
Lets do it and ruin everyones hate watching

Henry swapping shirts with Doncic at the Crypto… bad omen.
My sources are telling me Merino is starting up front.
That’s a given, if you want a true leak, DR is starting today.
I heard Saliba may start also. Huge if true, no?
Yep. Have to take the opportunity and throw a bit of throwback thurdsday on that game.
The win against Juve was THE performance of that season, and I also said it many, many, many times over the years, the single greatest Arsenal performance I’ve ever seen.
Just imagine, going back now… We had so many issues that season, Arsene scrambled that team out of nothing, first of all that defence. Eboue, Senderos and Flamini as a LB, all simply emerged at once. Eboue was the most impressive one, a beginner he played like a seasoned top player. Senderos had his purple patch, and Flamini was a rock as a LB. Toure the leader of the back 4. With Lehmann who had his best season.
To go back to the game again… Juve… One of the top favourites for the CL that season alongside Barca, Chelsea, Milan. On top of a great team they got Vieira ahead of that season and it was obvious they wanted the CL after they failed to get it since 1996, being close so many times.
I expected us to get through against Madrid. That win gers overrated too often, but I really didn’t expect much against Juve even though I was always a huge optimist in those years.
That was simply a performance 10 years ahead of it’s time. That was Klopp’s BVB, or Heiynkess Bayern on the pitch. How organised we were defensively, how much abd how PRECISE and ORGANISED our attacking players worked to win the ball (Hleb, Pires/Ljungber, Reyes)… We never played ANYTHING like that even in the invincible years. Deadly and precise transition, no one had anything remotely close to that.
Juve coulsn’t get ONE decent shot on our goal the entire game. Camoranesi had one shit effort deep in the second half as far as I remember. And Ibra had one shot in a dangerous position blocked by Senderos/Toure in the first half. That’s all they did.
We made then like like a retirement team. Capello was one of the best managers in the world at the time, but Arsene made him look like an outdated dinosaur.
How poetic was it when Vieira left us, and one of the bigger reasons was because we couldn’t do much in Europe… Just to get defeated in that way and plus he was the one to lose the ball for that first goal when we did a teademark brilliant break after that. I guess he was surprised because it was Pires who stole the ball brillantly with that sliding tackle, the single best tackle of his career. Seriously though, it was quite weird to see my boy defending the way he did at the time.
That team was so so ahead of it’s time.
I always remain so proud of those CL performances in that season. Sadly didn’t manage to win it, but the way we played was inspiring.
What did I say, 4-0 Arsenal? Easy win either way.
Right Kiwior…time to have the first half of your life.
Don’t fuck it.
Kiwior - Pay attention
Lewis-Skelly - Be a bull
Rice - Don’t hide
Odegaard - Pull yourself together
Martinelli - No fluffing chances
Merino - Try and do something
Pep talk sorted, let’s win shall we?
Won’t be easy but then again it’s not meant to be, it’s Real Madrid in a UCL knock out tie. C’mon Arsenal!!!
