Lose this game and our season crumbles apart. Just like the Wenger days.
Don’t think it crumbles but it would be one foot out the door in 3 comps already.
I really wish we’d rotated heavily last night and prioritised this/Spurs. Even more now we lost 2-0 anyway, I don’t think it would’ve been worse with the backups.
Have to put everything in to beating United now, better chance at the FA cup than we do in the league.
We will have 20 shots, 2 on target and will lose 0-2

Prioritise this one cup as it might be the only chance of success.

If by prioritize you mean play our strongest team, then I think Arteta will definitely do that but that’s not good enough is it? Arteta needs to find some answers even with all the injuries and players being out of form cause outside of set pieces, we seem to not have much scoring threat,
and that’s not good enough to win big games and trophies.
Right now, that’s a very real possibility. We need a proper signing or two that can make an instant impact and get us a few wins. Don’t see any other way we can turn this around in the short term and if we don’t get the results we need in the next few games, this season would be done.

Not saying that we shouldn’t expect success with the investment we’ve had, but I do think 4 trophyless seasons should be viewed at least a little through the prism of having been a team that was indisputably good enough to be champions but lost out to a club that was financially doped up to the eyeballs.
There are trophies we should have won. I think we should have had one of the last two league titles, we should have been better in the cups, and not winning the Europa League at least once are all question marks for me.

If we lose this and we don’t sign any players in January, I’m afraid to say it and I can’t stop myself from saying it, but heads will roll.

as stated whats the worth of it…you could pay 3x the amount for a player in Jan and he isn’t up to speed and barely does anything worth while this campaign and leave us short for the summer. People really need to stop and think of what overpaying for a potentially dead season does for us after the fact. The same people moaning that we need to spend now would be the people bitching that we didnt spend enough in summer.
Tbf, we’ve been overpaying for talent since Pepe back in 2019. The club surely has to do something in January to get back on track.
Unfortunately there’s no Dubai trips to help us.
