Arsenal vs Man City (Community Shield) 1-1

We got to play this game and we won this game

All we can really do is win the games we get to play :man_shrugging:t4:

I rather win then lose in any case

#just sold my heart to Martin Odegaard# is the tune of the day

I still got a hard on.

Not even the Mets can make me flaccid right now.

Spanish Super Cup is contested by four teams: the winners and runners-up of the Copa del Rey and La Liga.

Not particularly uncommon for the runners up to be involved.

so happy to see all of them in smiles…
Jurrien is the best today, and both Rice and Kai are pretty good also.

We’ve got tonnes of people taking performances in friendlies seriously but when there’s one that actually has something on the line, one must remember it’s pre-season. What happened to ‘we don’t do friendlies’.

Community Shield champions :tada: :champagne:

Salty Rio at it again.

Bro was our biggest supporter before we were seen as a threat but ever since that changed he can’t deal with it.

They can’t take it.

I was at a Rovers game so missed all the fun after about 55 mins. I checked the score at about 97 mins and didn’t find out for a good half hour later that we’d equalised and taken the Shield on pens.

Rovers won too so a good day all round!

Can someone shed some light on why that rat Rodri never gets a yellow card?

It’s so ridiculous the conclusions people jump to just because we dare celebrate winning a football match. Yes because we were happy about winning the Community Shield we now think we’re going to rule the world and solve world hunger.

They are truly awful. Just watched them botch a double play which let the Os score an insurance run.

Pep was losing it when they scored their goal btw and was nervously sipping water when we equalised.
It’s not the Premier League, nor it is the FA Cup but it is a trophy nevertheless and it so happened to be between the two main PL contenders this season.

The narrative would be so different if City won.
“Yet another trophy for Pep’s City”
“City going 9 wins in a row against Arsenal”

When two powerhouses seriously playing against each other, the trophy gad a meaning.

When two teams sending backups and subs to play, the trophy has less or no meaning.

Today, the Charity Shield is a serious trophy.

When I got the goal alert saying City scored in the 77th minute. I thought that was it done. To then check it again and see we won on penalties was :exploding_head::joy:

Good to see us get the shield again. :red_circle:

To be fair to Pep, that’s a good reply to the ‘3 in a row’ question.
You have to be in it to lose it and they were eligible to play because they have won PL & FA cup along the way.

Ha, really bad but when that De Bruyne penalty went wife and they put his face on I shouted fuck you kid that’s life at the TV :rofl::person_facepalming:

have to give credit to Cole Palmer, scored a decent goal which was similar to a Mahrez strike
