Arsenal vs Bayern (CL) 3-1

Cannot see anything but Arteta going full out for a win in both games.

Squad feels confident and hungry - every player will be desperate to be part of every game, so we are getting 100% from them. Get an early couple goals and then rest some players after an hour

I expect the same team as Spurs, hopefully Gyok and Odegaard on the bench. Then maybe one or both will come into the team against Chelsea. I could also see Martinelli or Madueke coming into the side against Chelsea.

Right now you’ve got to go with your absolute best XI but I hope that we soon transition into a pattern where we’re changing a few players every match to get some additional rotation.

I see two potential rotations, Madueke and MLS in, Saka/Trossard and Calafiori out.

Would’ve liked White here too but I think Timber is way too essential for Mikel and I can’t see him sacrificing that to start an unfit White.

I think carrying the momentum right now is more important than anything else so I’m personally all in favour of the strongest lineup possible and minimal rotation.

We’ve got Odegaard, Madueke, Martinelli and Gyokeres back too so can definitely give them some minutes in the second half to bring them up to the pace and all of them are perfectly capable of slotting it on the weekend against Chelsea

Aren’t we on some unbeaten home run wrt CL?

In the league/group phase maybe.
PSG slapped ue not too long ago in the CL SF.

I’d take a draw. They look very good.

Agree on the fullbacks, I more expect MLS for Cala given concerns on his fitness recently and Timber being in top form.

More likely white could start on the weekend if Cala is then back in.

Between us and them for best team in Europe atm. The inferior bastards do look good for a change.

Can’t wait to have Jesus and Gyokeres available. Totally different profiles, impossible to adapt when you’re playing against one and then the other comes in for him.

Calafiori and Timber were slight doubts ahead of the game against Spurs hence the full-back change. Mosquera for HincapiĆ© doesn’t feel like too much of a drop in quality.

The only questionable selections from the team is Nwaneri and Norgaard. The latter in particular has looked a little off the pace. Mind you I fully expect Zubimendi and Eze to play.

Honestly I’d take the L now if it meant beating Chelsea and getting a 9-point lead on them.

Likely in the minority on this, but I’d rotate and rest the big boys. Can’t afford any more first team injuries at this point surely.

That said, it’s great to have Noni back. Hopefully the others won’t be too far off either.

Brugge away is no joke, Inter away is no joke.

We can’t just throw away points against Bayern if we want to ensure top 8. Especially as they are one of our direct rivals for the top.

Plus we have Inter to play as well! Table is tight atm. We must finish in the top 8.

Hope we beat up on these Bayern bitches. Although I suspect a Kane pen is a guarantee.

In theory, yes. However I have zero expectation from Jesus to be honest. What are the chances of him getting back to his absolute best (before the '22 WC) and staying fit? Feels very slim.

There’s a big gap between that and him being of no use whatsoever though.

All we need him to do score an important goal or two. He’s definitely capable of that.

When I remember his game against Bayern exactly, two seasons ago, that 1/4 final… He cam off the bench and had that brilliant assist when he dribble past a couple in the penalty area and served Trossard I think.

He’s always capable of such moments. Just needs to stay fit.

Also, was is in strange goalscoring form last time he was fit, around this time last year. He can always affect a game greatly in little time on the pitch, we just need him fit enough to play around half an hour or so.

Also, tbf his last injury, happened in that United cup game no? … it was an accident, impact, injury, not too heavily related to his past issues.

I reckon he can have a big impact if he just avoids a similar injury again.

With an eye on the Chelsea game on Sunday, I think we will keep it virtually the same team that played Vs Spurs. I reckon Martinelli and Madueke are guaranteed decent minutes for the North/South London derby trip, and I expect them to make a cameo again Vs Munchen.

Like others have mentioned, if we can position ourselves nicely on Wednesday, the hope is that we can rotate some players and keep legs fresh for the weekend. Two massive games that we cannot afford to drop points in, no pratting around with the team selection.

usually I would go ā€œall inā€ and get the win.. but I do have a mix feeling this time.

The title talk is realistic, and the Chelsea game is more important than Bayern at this moment (for me).

I also understand the momentum, and how much boost we could have if we beat Bayern… well, just hope not getting another injury…
The title is so real this season.
